Australia will discover why the rest of the world is wild for the art of fingerstyle guitar. Using ground-breaking techniques and a depth of composition Queensland guitarist Van Larkins is pairing up with Italian virtuoso, Andrea Valeri as well as Sutherland Shire own guitar virtuoso trio Richard Calabro, Lance Aligiannis and Dave Bova aka the Dancing Fingers. An explosion of guitar wizardry and compositions. Doors open at 7pm.

They will perform us from 7:15pm THIS Saturday Night March 12th. This has got to be the perfect backdrop to a meal at The Greenery Cronulla or for a few Saturday night beverages in our main bar. Either way the sounds of the Trio will be a sound not quickly forgotten.

This is a special event where I will be showcasing Divina FULL album for the first time. We will also showcasing for the first time the new amazing video clip 'Conquistador'. This is actually a semi-official CD launch so there will be enough CDs available for purchase, that is if you like the music and if you are of course interested to support and listen to something a little bit different!
I will also debuting for the first time with the new and mighty BRITISH INVASION. A concept show proposing the golden classics from English rock from the 60's onward. Last but not least the magic guitar music of fingerpicker maestro from Italy Giulio Abussi will please all guests as they arrive. I hope to see you there!

DIVINA is on this Saturday 5 December at 8pm. We're going to support Aussie legend GLENN SHORROCK singer and founding member of the LITTLE RIVER BAND.
It's AUSTRALIAN MUSIC WEEK folks! Look out for live music in Cronulla. Lots and lots of live acts all over the place from tomorrow till Sunday, UB40 will conclude the festival on Sunday.
Meanwhile there will be plenty of talented songwriters and acoustic guitar ensembles in between. May I recommend...

Faith - Music by Dave Bova
Third installment from the album DIVINA. This is a modern Celtic-flavoured ballad. Similarly to most of the other tracks on the album this piece gradually builds up from moody and atmospheric to a dense rich finale. The piece was written during a slight dark period of time. Strangely I tend to write perhaps the most joyous pieces during these times, maybe as a way to counteract.
I drew influences for this piece from two of my favourite guitar players: Pat Metheny and Steve Morse.

Drawings - Music by Dave Bova
Following the 12 minutes epic opener (Divina Comedia) there's this little solo number on classical guitar. It was the last one to go in. I felt the need to write something short, simple and direct to create some contrast between the other more intense pieces.
This one came out spontaneously. It took me roughly 20 minutes to write it and about the same to record it. No preconceived idea or nothing, it just came out as it is first time around. If I could only write and record at this speed I would release a new album every month!

I wanted to embrace the last 1000 years of music from ancient, classical baroque, flamenco and modern rock to finally return to where it all started (nothing much really!). Full circle in only 12 minutes. I doubt you heard many compositions like this one. But if you have please share!
I'm going to gradually post all the audio tracks from the Divina album on YouTube for the whole world to listen and enjoy for FREE! Yes! "Free music" is beautiful and easy these days. Hopefully if you like what you hear then you would also like to purchase the CD (nice artwork) and in doing so you'll be helping musicians like me making a dollar every now and again.
