This is a post from a friend of mine and I thought b***y group was the perfect place to ask 🤣🤣
If anyone has any pre baby bras they don’t think they will wear again I can collect tomorrow and drop to my friend over the weekend xx Debs 😍
The Guide group Becky works with have a link with a woman visiting Kenya at the end of July. We have been asked to donate any unwanted bras - any size, colour or condition - to help the status of Kenyan women. Many of these women cannot afford to buy bras. However if they wear one, they are not only more comfortable, but they are less likely to be attacked as they are considered to have higher social status. Please ... if you can donate any that you no longer need - to our house, work places or we could even possibly collect, they are needed before Monday 16th July, when Becky will take them to Guides and they will be passed on to be taken to Kenya. Women helping women ❤ Very many thanks. Paula and Becky # #
Morning All, can anyone give me a sentence or two to say what hot drinks at group mean to you xx

Families and Babies - FAB Dorset
I was discussing this with someone yesterday...
We've been asked about this a lot, especially recently, so here's some up to date and informative reading for you, which I hope will clarify some points in case a mum is worried 🙂 Dx
The Leaky B**b
I’m not a bad mom because my baby cries. I’m not a bad mom for responding to my baby’s cries. I’m not a bad mom that sometimes I can’t stop my baby’s cries.
Babies cry. Not to manipulate, not to punish, not to judge, not to be difficult, not to make your life miserable.
It physically causes me pain to hear my baby cry. My baby's cry hurts me if she’s not in my arms and I’m not comforting her. Her cry brings on enormous stress and anxiety, elevating my blood pressure, making it impossible for me to think about anything but soothing and helping her.
But she doesn’t do it on purpose to cause me pain and discomfort. She’s not being a spoiled brat by crying.
Babies cry because it is one of the only ways they have to communicate. And they’re brand new at the communicating thing. Babies cry because of their own stress and discomfort, not to cause stress and discomfort for others.
I used to think that babies would never cry if their parents were responsive and paying attention to their baby’s cues before it came to crying. But now I know that sometimes, babies just cry. When they’re sick, if their tummy hurts, when they’re having a bad day, if they are scared, if they’re developing a new skill, and any number of reasons.
Kind of like when I cry.
I don’t take it as a personal judgment against me as a mom if my baby cries any more. Nor do I see it as my baby being broken or difficult.
For a brief moment in time, before I thought babies wouldn’t cry if their parents were good enough, I thought they would cry to manipulate and control their parents. That, unless taught differently, they would try to have the upper hand and dominate. Without schedules and limits and even ignoring a baby’s cries, babies would grow to be spoiled children and eventually spoiled manipulative adults.
Why I believed that is complicated and full of baggage from my own childhood and social conditioning. I was warned that if I picked my baby up every time she cried, I would be teaching her that she was in charge. There were cautions that if she wasn’t on a schedule or left to cry sometimes my baby would be undisciplined, demanding, manipulative, and unable to self soothe.
And yes, I believed that even with my newborn 19 years ago.
I tried to heed the warnings. Aimed to be sure I wasn’t manipulated or controlled by my baby with her crying.
I believed it until I didn’t any more.
But I ignored it almost from the start. Actually thinking I was parenting wrong.
Why?
Because not responding to my baby’s cries felt wrong. It caused my physical pain. It brought on anxiety. It made me desperate to get to her. I couldn’t let my baby cry.
So I responded. Sometimes it has meant I just comfort and hold them while they cry if I’m not able to soothe them, say with the breast or a diaper change. Even that feels better than not responding. The least I can do is be there with them when they are upset.
Now I know that I can respond to my child’s call for help or expression of distress every time. It will not ruin her. In fact, science and personal experience has proved quite the opposite to be true.
I also know now that my baby crying isn’t a sign of my failure and that it’s ok for someone else to respond to her if I need a break. It’s even ok for me to let her cry for a moment while I collect myself and take a deep breath when I’m feeling overwhelmed by her cries- that isn’t ignoring her or neglecting her, it is giving myself what I need to care for her. It’s ok that sometimes I can’t soothe my baby and all I can do is simply hold her while she cries. It’s even ok that sometimes I cry because of her cries.
It isn’t failure. It’s parenting.
