Saint Agnes of Montepulciano
Saint Agnes of Montepulciano was born into a noble family in the village of Gracciano, Italy, in about the year 1268.
When I was asked to be a Dominican Nun I returned to Montepulciano and founded a monastery of Dominican nuns. I died in 1317 at the age of 49 at the head of my Dominican community. St. Catherine of Siena visited My tomb to pay respect and it is said that i who was dead raised my foot as Saint Catherine bent to kiss it. I always was always making things easier for others even at my death.
In the Liturgy Nuns of the Dominican Order celebrate St. Agnes of Montepulciano on April 20 with a Feast. The Alleluia is sung at the end because her feast is celebrated during the Easter Season.
When I was 9 years old my parents allowed me to go with god in the religious life. I joined a convent of sisters , I grew rapidly in the love of God and prayer. The nuns were asked to find a new monastery in another town, and I was asked to join in making the foundation. There at Procena, with the express permission of the Holy Father, I a 15-year-old Saint was soon named Abbess of the community.

Agnes’ installation as Abbess was marked by a miracle of falling “manna,” which was a mysterious substance composed of little white flakes shape like crosses as you can see in the picture. Miracles seemed to happen from her many qualities, her love of the Eucharist, her devotion to Our Lady, who once appeared to her and let her hold Jesus, her remembrance of Christ’s Passion. Agnes’ generosity to the poor did not deplete the community stores, several times miraculously the supply multiplied.
