Get out there and enjoy the sun ☀️
Hey Lovers! Join me this Saturday night from 8pm as I kick off my first ever livestream - Back On Wax. I’ll be playing some of my favourite records spanning 25 years as a DJ. This is an exclusive Vinyl only set. Back to basics, no tricks, just great music and some skills 🔥
I know it’s been a pretty s**t time for most of us Aussies living in this beautiful country, so I wanted to bring some happiness to you all. All uplifting, funky, jackin’, vocal house and disco for a Saturday night in. Grab a champagne and tune in, I’m really looking forward to having a boogie with you all. Make sure you share the post, invite your mates 💃🏽🕺🏽

Stared writing this little banger earlier this year. Time to polish it off. Keys and bass, let’s do it. This thing thumps 🔥🚀💃🕺🏽
Itching to play to a dance floor again
‘The Story In Your Eyes’
So nice to get back into the studio and work on music again. After 4 solid weeks of listening and organising my records, I literally have hundreds of samples to play with. Very excited!
This one’s off some random German record from 1962 💥🔥👊🏽

Vale Charlie Watts. Thank you
I’m so eternally grateful you existed and did what you did. I could write for days on why you were the greatest rock drummer of all time. Simply irreplaceable 🧡
Released in 1997 on Guidance Recordings, this was easily my favourite record from the label. Deep house coming straight outta Chicago from the dynamic Iz & Diz
I fell in love with deep house in the late 90s. I was gravitating to artists like Iz & Diz, Timewriter and Mateo & Matos more and more. Theywere producing this music that was more aligned to the ethos of the original house and techno music from Detroit & Chicago in the late 80s. It was deeper, as the name suggests, than the hi energy vocal house music at the time, and focused more on the ‘groove’ than the ‘song’ format, just like dj trax. And it was cool af, the kind of music to get you in the mood. This is where my love for the ‘opening dj set of the night’ began
Still to this day, my favourite set of the night is the first one. I’ve always loved setting up the room for the night ahead. Creating the vibe and building that juju. There’s an art form, an alchemy in playing the perfect opening set. Unfortunately it’s not as celebrated or executed as well these days, but you can always tell the quality of a DJ by the way they play an opening set. Anyone can slam a dance floor with the hits, it takes skill to set the magic up in the room. If ya know, ya know! Ya know?
I hope this sets up your weekend. Enjoy Lovers. Happy Friday 🧡
