Home sweet home! 4 out of 5 were delivered today-screens were removed and everyone’s out and about getting acclimated.
I had given the boys a bunch of paint months back and let them paint the boxes… but hoping to swap out for some fresh new looks here soon!

My youngest helper came out today to check the pollen trap and peek at the bees 🐝 he’s too cute not to share!

Do you take a daily probiotic? I do 🙋‍♀️ sometimes the bees could use some probiotics as well to boost their overall health! So today we did 1 tablespoon of probiotic to 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar and sprinkled on top of each hive 🙏🏻 we also installed my first pollen trap! We will only leave on the bee box for a handful of hours before we can remove and hopefully harvest some nutrient rich great for sprinkling on yogurt, adding to smoothies, etc.

Another busy day today🤪 middle schoolers started their mini unit on descriptive writing and what we call “Show me sentences”… I caught the beginning of the varsity girls volleyball game… and then ran home to tend to the bees before the boys’ soccer practice 💪🏼

Made it out to the hives this afternoon! We got poured on last night so excuse the mud. 3 out of 5 are filling up their supers, so we’re praying for another nice harvest in a few weeks! Stay tuned, it’s gonna be a big one!

Some have asked if I harvest all my frames by hand, and the answer is no! 1 hive’s “super” can produce up to 9 heavy frames of honey. When we are blessed with such a harvest, I bust out this and can spin out 4 frames at a time. This ensures, I get the most off of the frame in the easiest way 🙏🏻💪🏼

I’ve grown from 1 to 6 hives in 1 year! Can’t wait to get my first harvest from my here soon 🙏🏻
