Dear Poema family,
The advent of Covid-19 has brought about dramatic changes in many lives. By and large, the two of us feel very lucky: we are safe and healthy, we have a comfortable place to live, we have each other, and we have a supportive extended community.
Unfortunately, we must announce that it has become clear that Poema Clothing, in its current form, can’t outpace this pandemic. We have made the difficult decision to suspend operations for the rest of the year. All remaining stock has been put on clearance until the end of June. Starting in July, clothing will not be available for sale in our online shop.
We cannot thank you enough for your patronage. Poema was founded in 2009, and we have felt exceedingly fortunate over these past eleven years to be autonomous creative businesspeople. The near future is unusually uncertain for the two of us (as it is for many people right now), but whatever the future brings, rest assured that we are preparing to navigate it with flexibility and optimism!
Lastly: the health of our global tango community is much more important than tango clothes. We implore you to keep yourselves safe, and to keep tango safe and protected inside the vessels of your bodies so that it can flourish again when the time comes.

Dear Poema family,
The “safer at home” orders in California have not yet lifted, so in the interest of public safety, we have unfortunately not been able to resume regular production; however, we do have some updates:
-We have begun to fulfill orders again! Starting Monday, May 4th, we will be doing all of our weekly shipping on Mondays.
-In an effort to reduce the financial strain on our business, we are having to temporarily suspend free returns. You can still download a return shipping label for non-clearance items through our returns portal, and the cost of the label will be deducted from your refund.
-We’ve changed our international shipping options—if you are shopping from outside the United States, visit our site to learn more.
Rest assured that we are taking every precaution with the storage, packing and shipping of our clothing. We are so appreciative of your support—every single purchase is helping us to keep our heads above water during this particularly difficult time.

Dear Poema family,
Due to the "safer at home" orders issued by the state of California, all places of non-essential business are closed, including the building that houses the Poema studio. At this time we don't have access to our inventory and equipment. The online shop is open, but shipping will be indefinitely postponed for all orders, and production of new pieces is also indefinitely postponed.
