Patel Industrial Research Leadership Award ' during the Industrial Research Awards 2023 on Friday, 19th Jan 2024 in Mumbai. The accolade is a recognition of his relentless efforts in leveraging Scientific & Technological Research for the Economic Growth of India. The award was presented by Eminent Scientist Dr. R.A. Mashelkar in presence of Chairman Board of Advisors Prof. M. M. Sharma, Dr. Mohan I. Patel.
The Award Ceremony was hosted by 'Vividhlaxi Audyogik Samshodhan Vikas Kendra (VASVIK),' an renowned non-profit NGO promoting industrial research, science and technology in India. Since its inception in 1974, VASVIK has awarded over 500 Indian Scientists and Entrepreneurs for their contributions to the advancement of science and technology in prosperity of the nation.
Hon. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri inaugurated Praj’s first-of-its-kind Alcohol to Jet ( ) demonstration facility at its R&D Center in Pune on Saturday, 20th Jan 2024.
This is a milestone achievement in Praj’s pursuit of decarbonization and energy transition through Bioeconomy with a vision to make the world a better place. The facility exhibits indigenously developed technology for the production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel to facilitate decarbonization of the transportation sector.
Utilization of Captive Agri-Resources for the production of Biofuels such as SAF is aligned with the government’s goals towards Atma Nirbhar Bharat and will go a long way in helping India achieve its energy self-reliance by 2047. Building SAF production capacities will enable energy transition and help India become a global hub for SAF production.

Vice President - Corporate Strategy - Bioenergy, Praj Industries participated in the Industry Roundtable titled “Industry Perspectives on Expectations from the Global Biofuels Alliance (GBA)” at the GBA Pavilion, Knowledge Hub on 3rd Dec 2023 in Dubai at COP28 UAE. Praj officials represented India's perspective at the international platform during COP28 and met global climate experts and leaders of participating nations.
While addressing the roundtable on the Global Biofuel Alliance (GBA) at the Knowledge Hub, Mr. Joshipura and Dr. Utgikar shared their thoughts on how the GBA is poised to bring out the global best practices in furthering biofuels development & deployment, help formulate comprehensive policy frameworks, and accelerate technology deployment in the global south. During the roundtable on Global Decarbonization Accelerator (GDA) at the Energy Transition Pavilion, Mr. Joshipura shared his insights on how mainstreaming Bioeconomy can help us curb GHG emissions and reduce carbon footprints. The Global South can benefit from Praj's expertise in providing innovative technology solutions for accelerating energy transition and sustainable climate action.
The GBA Pavilion at the COP28 UAE also played host to an impressive exhibition showcasing the potential & capabilities of biofuels in India. The workshop gave the opportunity to listen to the Bioeconomy thought leaders from India and the USA and participate in global discourse on climate action.
