Hello friends! I delivered this beauty on Saturday to its home and it joined the first 2 paintings. Together they took their place on the beautiful wall especially created just for these paintings!! 💜💜💜

Wow!! I’ve missed almost a week of ! But I’m determined to catch up when I miss days. So here’s days 16-21 (pics go backwards).

Ahh got away from me for a few days!! So here’s days 15-12.

Today’s is Spanish moss in Savannah GA. I’m slightly obsessed!! We’re going to visit in just a few weeks during spring break for a few days. We’re actually looking at moving there in a couple years. Honestly we’re ready to go now but the house isn’t nor is our savings. So we’re working on things to get ready. And waiting for the housing market to do its ebb thing. But it’s definitely on our minds and we dream about it a lot.

As far as art goes, some days are harder than others to come up with an idea that I like. I’ve tossed several starts that I just wasn’t feeling. And sometimes they don’t come out as I expected but I keep going.

Today I did a nice warmup on a bigger piece of paper which I think was very helpful. Trying to paint tiny has advantages, but it also has its cons. So warming up and getting into that magical zone is crucial. I was interrupted a lot last week and I can definitely see it in my work. Goals to make better art this week!!

In addition to the moss I’ve got a bright bloom, a night sky and a rainbow using a new paint palette I bought the other day. Treated myself to a few new brushes too. Good tools really make such a big difference!!

Getting into my zone has been a little difficult the last couple days. I start to get into it…that happy place where I’ve managed to let any day stress go for a few, enjoying being in the moment of contented creativity while my imagination takes flight, content to just play with the paints and water and then… BAM!! Someone walks into my studio unannounced and uninvited, or the phone rings. Ugh!! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Days 6 & 7 of Which means I’ve made it a week!!! Whooo!!! Last time (2 years ago) I lasted roughly 8 days. Oy!

My initial idea was 100 watercolor paintings. I’m now thinking of using a few different mediums once I get bored. It happens. I’m an artist. I think it’s why I’ve had SOOOO many interests in different art forms.

I’ve tried almost everything!! And that’s ok!! Give yourself permission to PLAY!! Use those fancy papers for something! Dig out your unused stuff. Or the old stuff you can’t seem to part with. Just TRY!! Try something new and fun!! Even if you think it’s terrible I promise you’ll at least enjoy the process!! 💜

Today is day 4 of I’m a bit out of practice looking at this one. But by day 10 I’m sure I’ll get in my groove. But for now at least I’m having fun! Ooo! Maybe finding my glasses before I paint so small would be helpful? I’ll try that tomorrow!! 🤓

This year I’m joining in the I’m working on creating a collection of . My work this year will all be done on 2 1/2” squares. At the end of the project in July, each original piece will be for sale.

I had an art professor in college who used to say that small art works were very special because of their size. It made them feel precious. This first piece definitely feels that way to me.

Shalom my friends! It has been SO long since I’ve done or posted any art I thought Thanksgiving would be the perfect time to get back at it! I’ve had a lot going on in the last 6 months and I’ve lost my focus. But I’m ready to get back to work now and in the coming new year! So I thought there’s no better way to thank all my followers, welcome my new followers and wish you all peace and love than with a thanksgiving doodle!! May you all have a wonderful thanksgiving (however you celebrate it) with the ones you love and adore. 🍗🍷🥧🦃

I love being an artist!! Mostly because I get to create one of a kind art for my friends and family for special occasions!! This was a piece I did for our cousins 40th birthday!! She does really brilliantly funny and beautiful cross stitch (needle point). So each item surrounding her is an element from different pieces she’s created. My ode to her on her special day!! 💜

Running a business is really hard.
What they don’t tell you is that it can cause severe anxiety, and drains you mentally to the point of depression in even the most laid back people.

People will talk about you, compare you to others, use you, they will view you as a service and not a person anymore.

Friends will expect discounts on everything and value you and your hard work less than a big chain store.
You have to worry about if you forget to email/message someone back, are they going to think it was on purpose? Did you disappoint them? Will they hold that against you? When in reality you just can’t get to everyone’s messages and emails.
Starting up and running a successful business puts incredible strain on personal lives and relationships, many of which fail because there is just often no work life balance. You need to be the director, the worker, the admin, the marketing team, the accountant, the cleaner..... All whilst being a parent, a husband or a wife, family support, friend...

There’s a reason you don’t see many people succeed in small businesses after 5-10 years. It takes a toll. It’s freaking exhausting. Especially this past year.

Here’s a small reminder that we are just normal people with hectic lives. Be kind, be patient….. and hopefully more of us will stick around!

Each card is done one at a time, with hand painted paper, then each piece cut by hand and glued one at a time. Each one is intrinsically unique!!

I sell in bundles of 3 for best pricing. I can offer a small break on larger orders too. There’s a difference in price depending on the size.

Hey friends! It’s been a busy couple weeks since the fall fest. I’ve got 3 markets coming up this month, and 1 next month so far, so I’m up to my ears coming up with fun and beautiful things!!

I wanted to share with y’all a custom order for a large thank you card. It came out even better than I expected and my customer loved it!! I absolutely love what I do!! 💜

Holy cow! I just received an email acceptance into a juried art show in November!! I’m so excited!! 🤩

My newest piece! It also happens to be the biggest so far; 11 x 17 inches. And it’s 3 dimensional. Collage is so much fun!

I had such a fun day yesterday at the Gibsonville Fall Fest! Thank you to all the folks who came out!

It’s been busy around here this summer, but soon my sweet girl will be back to school and I’ll be able to spend several hours in my studio each day uninterrupted!! ⏰
My focus will be illustrating my newest manuscript in collage and I’m so excited!! Right now I’m doing some practice pages like this, to see how my style comes out and what I prefer. 🤔
Collage can be done in so many ways and from so many things, it’s kind of daunting trying to narrow it down for a storybook. I’m taking a collage class this term with the wonderful and beautiful Vanessa Newton, so that’ll be fun and super helpful in my quest. Can’t wait to get started!! ✂️
