This is how our first sound systems looked until Steve joined us and tweaked our setup.

Elsewhere in the 60s and 70s, the most notable rock bands were forming. Live sound wasn’t exactly the kind of quality we have today. This caused a sound jumble that was not appreciated by bands anywhere, and one decided to take action.

Seen here, Jerry Garcia and his headlining band didn’t want you to just hear rock, they wanted you to feel it, too. Thus, the “Wall of Sound” was born. In total, the system was over three stories tall, 100 feet wide, and weighed in at 70 tons. Hundreds of separate equipment pieces, such as speakers and amps, were part of this monument to rock.

Always a great time!

All are welcomed.

We are still enjoying the after-glow from the NewDay Concert. There were certainly many things to celebrate that night. Here is a story that zipped by so quickly that many may have missed it. The little guy on stage next to Scott Marhanka is Brendan. He joined Cripple Creek on stage during the 2021 concert. You may remember John Langford holding him while singing. One month after that appearance his life changed dramatically. Here is his story as shared by his grandmother, Lynlee.

Brendan was diagnosed at 2 years of age with stage 4 neuroblastoma. The diagnosis was 1 month after his debut with Cripple Creek. Since then, he has endured 5 rounds of chemo, abdominal surgery to remove the tumor, 2 stem cell transplants, radiation, and 6 rounds of immunotherapy with chemotherapy. In October of 2022, a brain tumor was discovered, and he had surgery to remove the mass. After brain surgery, he had 10 cycles of radiation and 6 cycles of immunotherapy/chemotherapy. His mother had to give up her career as a nurse to provide for his full-time care.
As of 4/23, Brendan has miraculously been diagnosed as disease free! Despite everything the child has been through, he remains to be the happiest, kindest little man. He will be celebrating his 4th birthday this May.

Having Brendan back on stage with us is nothing short of a miracle.
God is good... All the time!!!

Hey friends, sorry to announce that we are postponing tonight's Arts in the Park performance until Wednesday, August 24th. Uncertain forecast, soggy conditions from yesterday's rain, and an uncomfortable humidity level are some of the factors leading to this decision. Please mark your calendar and come spend that evening with us!

Less than 24 hours to the big event!

We've had some questions about the concert this Saturday and we thought others might have them too:
-There is no dress code for the concert, we encourage a smart casual code if you need some direction.
-We have 3 local and delicious food trucks coming to the concert and have a dessert bar for your sweet tooth. We ask that you do not bring in any outside food or beverages.
-We still have 1 VIP table left for sale and it can be purchased at newdaylaporte.org.
-General Admission tickets can be purchased at the door.
-The auction this year is online-only, so you will need a mobile device to participate in the auction. The auction goes live at 12am Saturday morning at: https://lightupthenight.ggo.bid/bidding/package-browse
-We accept cash, check, and credit card at the concert.
-Any further questions, post them below and we will get an answer to you right away.

We are getting excited to Light Up the Night and hope you are too!

We are also looking forward to Arts in the Park at Stone Lake Beach on July 6th. Always a good time.

Sadly, there is one event we cannot perform at this year. The NewDay Foundation Concert on April 29th. Some of us we'll be there helping out the NewDay Band so come on out and help support this great foundation and their work.
