Who has their Christmas tree up already?⭐️🎄We get a live tree every year...it’s waiting to be decorated now! I love putting up all of our handmade ornament our kids have made over the years. This month I’m offering an ornament making workshop. Participants will make a hand-sewn stuffed tree with all the trimmings. Link to sign up is in my bio. Space is still available!

Fit check ✅ in progress…good thing we did a little try-on this afternoon bc my customer would like some adjustments 🤣. Really pleased with how the appliqué turned out…I figured out a little hack I’ll share in another post! 😉

I couldn’t celebrate one of my students and not the other! Allys, another teen that has been in my program for a few years is also leaving this session! I went with a princess theme for her because she made that lovely Disney-inspired gown on the left! Sad to see these teens leave...my babies are growing up 😭🥰

It was my turn to surprise one of my students! I set up a few goodies in appreciation of a long-time student, Taniyah that will be leaving the program this session...the gown on the left is an example of her amazing work!

Parent Engagement Day this morning with my teens...they taught guests how to use the sewing machine and then make an intro project.

A few things my students have been working on in my Advanced Fashion Startup program...

Made a sweatshirt this morning for my son while everyone else slept!! 😊😊 I used Simplicity pattern #8754 in a size 5 with a few adjustments. My son is typically a 5t in store-bought clothes. He is tall and long for his age, so I added 1 inch to the length of the body of sweatshirt. It was a quick and easy sew...hoping to make more since I just stocked up on some fun knits. Also...the little critics review, “Why aren’t there trucks on the front?” 😏😂

This weekend we celebrated our marriage with a friends and family party at our home...and of course Elvis was here too 😜 Thanks for the awesome pics 😘😊

Yesterday evening, my teens and I had our end of session fashion show and friends and family event...couldn’t be more proud!! The fashion show was so much fun, and it was very nice to meet parents. Lots of hugs from everyone and all around good vibes! 🥰 ✌🏼If you haven’t seen me all summer, this is what I’ve been up to! The teens are all wearing outfits they’ve made. 👏🏼🙌🏼

I had a great first week meeting my new students and reuniting with old ones. A returning student has already started planning his final project.

Our first day of fall programs is today!! 🍂 Looking forward to all of the amazing stuff my teens will be making this session. Here’s Jasmin modeling the super impressive gown she made this summer 💙💙💙

Now that the dust has settled, and I have a little more free time (for now!) I thought I’d share some of my students’ work from this past summer. Just to fill you in, I had two sewing classes this session— an intro and advanced class. Most of the students in my advanced class have been sewing with me for close to a year now. Here are some sewers from my advanced class modeling their finished garments. The young man on the end actually made his jumpsuit and the green gown to his left. 💃🏽We had an outdoor fashion show to celebrate their final projects. My heart feels so happy when I see all they have achieved! ☺️💁🏼‍♀️

And just like that my summer session is over...😢 It flew by in the best way possible. We made some great memories and projects this summer. These faces are what makes my job worth it. ❤️ I’ll be sharing more soon!
