This project has been such a huge undertaking and I want to thank so many people for helping to make this dream a reality! I started on this pattern back in 2017 and I didn’t think it would be able to make it in the book. I got the news I was picked and now after more than two years of waiting it’s here! I want to thank my very talented sister Bailee for posing for the photos and my father for taking the photos that made it into the book. I’d also like to thank for tech editing this pattern for me as well as all of my pattern testers. The biggest thanks goes out to everyone at for picking my pattern to be in the book. This experience, as long as it was, has been so surreal. Even if I didn’t love every minute of it all of the hard work paid off. Now I want to see everyone in their and don’t forget to tag me!

Thought it would be fun to do a quick introduction. My name is Ariel and I am the maker behind The Knitted Sisters. My sister and started this back when we both had a lot more free time. I crochet and knit and my younger sister takes my photos and my littlest sister is my model. I have two little boys that help inspire me everyday and my husband who has always supported every crazy thing I do!
Over the years I have really worked on figuring out exactly what I want to do and I believe I have figured it out!

In the next few months we are going to be expanding a bit and I am so excited to be able to share all of the fun new things coming! Can’t share any details yet but keep your eyes out! “When life gives you lemons...” we’ve all heard that before, but it was literally the case. Throughout this year I have been struggling a lot with depression, anxiety, and some crazy things from my past. One day last month I was sitting talking with my sister we decided to take a closer look to this weird bush and when we looked at it we found lemons! We opened one up and found the most beautiful sweet scent.

No matter what is going on in your life stop to appreciate that you are alive. You can experience all of the wonders of the world. You have food in your pantry and a roof over your head. You were given lemons. What are you going to do with them?

Hey everyone! I have a super secret collaboration that I am working on and I need trustworthy crochet pattern testers! I can’t divulge too much information, but if you are interested the testing will be from October 26th to December 14th. You’ll have 7 weeks to test!

I can tell you it’s a garment and so I will be needing testers from XS-5X! Yarn that you will need is Lion Brand’s Jeans yarn or something equivalent (if using a different yarn it must be pre-approved through me first). I will need yardage approximations for the size you are testing for (especially if you are using a different yarn then Jeans yarn).

If you are interested and you HAVE tested for me before just DM me letting me know you are interested in testing for me again. If interested and you HAVE NOT tested for me before please DM me with your info and please include your email since that is the best way for me to send you all the info. If you do not have a crochet Instagram please send pictures or a link to your work for me to see especially if your profile is private. I prefer to check out your garment photos.

I will be picking testers by the 26th and you will be added to my testing group on Facebook for communication purposes.

I wanted to check in with everyone since I have been MIA for a bit. Recently there have been some developments in my life that has had me take a step back from my online presence as well as most of my crafting. I’ve been struggling a lot these past couple of months but especially these past couple of weeks.
Recently I realized what my purpose in life is and when realizing that you are stuck in a job that has nothing to do with your life goals...that’s really frustrating. Not to mention the amount of stress I’ve been under afraid I might lose that job due to my company firing a bunch of people including two of our supervisors. One of the supervisors was one of the best supervisors that I have ever had.
I got a call from the District Attorney’s Office two weeks ago and they told me a case I am involved in was going to court and I was subpoenaed to testify against someone. I made a statement three and a half years ago and wasn’t expecting this call for many more years. So my anxiety soared threw the roof and I started to panic. I am 100% behind testifying I just wasn’t expecting the call. I guess you can’t ever expect that type of call.
There is going to be some sort of shuffling around to get myself where I want to be and that might mean taking a step back from my crochet and crafting. I have started to write a book. I have been feeling more and more compelled to share my story with others. That means actually putting all of those raw feelings onto a page. It has been one of the hardest and at times easiest thing to do. Struggling with anxiety hasn’t helped, but today is the first time in a long while that I didn’t have a panic attack while thinking about all of the things I had to do. I am feeling more and more confident that I am on the right track with my life.
Also if anyone knows what this flower is please let me know! It was first a really dark purple and as it bloomed they turned this color. I love them so much and I want more. It looks like some sort of Dahlia, but I am not a flower expert.

My baby is at his first day of First Grade! I miss him so much but he is growing and learning and I can’t be anything but excited for him! I just can’t wait to ask him about his first day...can it be 3:21 already?! 😂

In my stories yesterday I shared this little guy. Found him in our tree in the front yard and he was just munching on some leaves 🍃
Last night I was looking for more scorpions 🦂 in our yard and just stumbled across the fact that our little caterpillar 🐛 glows! Swipe to see him under the black light!
FYI - I have totally turned into a bad a** scorpion killing machine! Took me a while to get over the scary thought that they can jump, sting, not super fast but they come after you, literally crawl into a space your credit card can fit into, and blend in with the rocks and tile in our house. So far I’ve killed a total of 6 of them. Thankfully none of them have been babies! Swipe to see the scorpion under the black light.

Sorry I’ve been MIA for a while I have been working on so many wips for Christmas presents! Tonight I am working with Caron X Pantone yarn. It has become one of my favorites!

Today is my birthday and I turned 26. Thinking back to ten years ago I never thought I’d be where I am. I am so thankful for everyone who has supported me. My sister bought me this Girl Boss picture. Once we get a house the first item in the office will be this picture. Thank you for my reminder I am a girl boss!

I’ve been trying to cast on all day yesterday and today. Ever have those days you want to design something, but you just can’t?

One of my friends is having twins and today was her baby shower. The theme was thing one and thing two from cat in the hat. I wasn’t able to be there today and so I am so happy to have been able to make this custom order for her! I was there in spirit!
