Hello! Hope you are all doing well.
Life is ticking by and I’m definitely missing my bench but all is well here.
I just wanted to let all you smithies know (especially anyone in the UK) about the lovely Kate . She sells the most amazing stones (including a few of mine) and her collection is huge. Go have a peak when you get a chance.
Missing you all! C x
Thank you all so, so much for all the heartwarming comments and messages, It’s been an emotional few days! Thanks also to those have helped clear the shelves. Really, thank you doesn’t feel like a good enough word, but it is meant, in the strongest possible way. ♥️
I have finally added the discounts to the last few items and all the bracelets pictured are now reduced by 40%! No coupon code needed. I still have a few bits and bobs to add, hopefully I will get time today or tomorrow to list those too. Thanks again! You’re all amazing!!! # # #

I’ve been putting off writing this post but I can’t really avoid it much longer. The reason I have extended the sale is because CWJ is closing its doors for personal reasons the foreseeable future.
I first opened my Etsy shop in February 2009 but had been making jewellery for a couple of years before that. It’s been an incredible journey that I have loved so much. I have made the most amazing connections and friendships and I will miss all of you hugely. On the other side of the coin, there are elements I won’t miss so much, mainly the financial insecurity. When I started it was really just a hobby. I was a stay at home mum of four small children and my husband was the bread winner. It gave me the opportunity to add to my tools and have some pocket money. Life’s changed and relying on this tiny business to fully financially support me has been tough at times and there’s always that worry at the back of your mind ‘will I make the bills this month?’ I won’t miss that.
Time for a new chapter.
I have had a good rummage and found quite a few random pieces that I will be listing over the coming days. I will be adding the discount on the website from tomorrow so need for a coupon code after that. I’m not sure how long I will be keeping the website live, at least for a few more weeks I’m sure but I would love it if the last few pieces could find a home.
I want to thank each and every one of you for your support and kindness over the years. You’ve made a dream a reality and for that I am so incredibly grateful.
Love to you all ♥️

xX PROTOTYPE EARRING SALE Xx
Every once in a while I like to set myself little challenges and right now it’s earrings. When I first started selling jewellery earrings and rings were my main makes. It just came easy to me back then. Roll on 15 years and right now I have a complete creative block with both. A complete blank in my head. I decided the best way to deal with that was to stop overthinking and just start cutting out shapes and here we are. I’ve decided from now until Christmas I will be playing with earrings. Some I may love and some I may not (I will be keeping that to myself) but all will be added to the website at a reduced price. So…… here’s the first batch. Botanical prints and autumnal gems. The next batch will be themed ‘minimalist’ as that’s another area I need to work on. Less is more and all that jazz. All now available.
My bench is covered in blossoms. I got a bit carried away and have so many hydrangea pieces in progress. I decided to list them in gemstone/colour sets to break it up a bit. Todays offering? Super flashy rainbow moonstones. Just added to the website.
Next up? Iolite and tanzanite followed by dusky pink silver sheen sapphires 🌸
I’ve been quiet for the last week because, well, it’s been one of those spells where pretty much everything I touch just seems to go terribly wrong in some way. Three broken stones, two pieces that just didn’t make the cut and some wacky ideas that just did not work. I’m currently trying to remind myself that these times are never a waste, as much as it feels that way. That with every failure a lesson is hopefully learnt.
I did manage to complete this piece early last week. I will be listing it soon but if anyone wants it prior feel free to send me a message. SOLD
I’m going back to basics this week. Pretty stones and simple settings. Wish me luck! 😆
On the bench.
Moss agate.
Hydrangeas.
Teal moss kyanite and London blue topaz hawthorn blossom necklace. Just added to the website 🌿
A little pop of colour to brighten these darker days.

Hawthorn blossom necklace about to get cleaned up and made pretty.
Just added another of the Luxe Tourmaline Dotty necklaces to the website. Ready to ship and can be oxidised if preferred.
The last piece available from last nights shop drop. Reclaimed sterling silver, 14ct gold, prehnite, green and sky blue kyanite with a tiny London blue topaz.
Thank you all so much!!!! ♥️
I’m making a couple of these as customs so if you would like one made in your own choice of stones/colours, feel free to send me a message.
All now listed on the website and more on the way soon.
I was in the studio at 7am this morning trying to get an early start on the last pieces only to walk into a room full of propane gas. Turns out my gas hose had sprung a leak. The last couple of hours has been spent running around getting replacements etc so the fourth necklace and other earrings won’t make tonight’s update. I will list those as they get finished in a day or three.
Out with the pup right now where I spotted these cuties then home to take pics/write listings.
Thanks so much for all the lovely messages about the new work! It will be hitting the website later today (6pm BST)
Things are coming together for Fridays 6pm shop drop. I am aiming to have 4 necklaces and at least 2 pairs of earrings, maybe 3 if I really pull out all the stops. Beauty shots coming so keep an eye out!
Making these is a bit like putting a puzzle together. Each element added one by one. Manipulating the metal so the solder joins hit the right spots and ensuring the piece is aesthetically and functionally balanced. It’s a process I become completely absorbed in.
Also, I thought I’d show the reality of my bench. I usually crop the mess out but It’s pretty much always in this state. It works for me 😁
Progress.
Just need to add the chains to the necklaces.
More pieces half finished on my bench including matching earrings for the bottom necklace. Going all out for an update Friday at the usual time (6pm BST). Anything that doesn’t get finished in time will just be added to the website as I complete them. Lots of progress pics will be added to my stories so keep an eye out for what’s on the way!
In progress
Garnets and hydrangeas.
Fresh pickings. I rescued this hydrangea from a garden centre two years ago. It was a sorry looking thing, a couple of stumpy stems but the exact one I’d been searching for for it’s abundance of tiny petals. I planted it outside the studio when it was built and with a little nurturing it yielded a host of blooms this year. I like to think that’s the case with life generally, we all sometimes need a little nurturing to bloom.
Hydrangea pieces coming soon 🌸
