Do you have a passion for supporting breastfeeding families?

We invite you to join us for a few hours as a volunteer during our Annual World Breastfeeding Week Celebration at the Utica Zoo on August 7th, 2024.

We are looking for 5-10 dedicated volunteers to assist with set-up, guide our guests, support families, help with clean-up, and more.

This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with the Mohawk Valley Breastfeeding Network team, learn about our non-profit work, and see how together we can enhance the health and well-being of new families in our community.

If you're interested, we would love to hear from you!

Back in April we hosted a training for 11 black women who are passionate about helping other women through pregnancy & childbirth, to become doulas!! ...and now they are all undergoing my business mentorship program, creating more black-women-owned businesses in our area!! I'm so proud of these women for sticking with it and they soon will be launching their very own doula businesses!! 💪🏽💪🏽

Good Afternoon! Just wanted to share that Susie's Breastfeeding Cafe is happening every 4th Saturday of the Month from 10am - 12pm.
There will be refreshments, a baby scale and a CLC available for you.
Our next cafe will be on April 24th, 2024 from 10am - 12pm. Bring along your little ones! Hope to see you there!

MVBN 2023 Annual mini- conference. Please join us for our Annual Breastfeeding Conference. This year we are featuring two great speakers. Ana Solano and Kandice Watson.

It's always so lovely to see local newspaper covering Breastfeeding support in our area during World Breastfeeding Week. Thank you for inviting me to be a part of this report.

Local breastfeeding experts cite benefits for moms, infants World Breastfeeding Week is marked annually from August 1to 7. The goal is to inform, anchor, engage and galvanize action on breastfeeding and related issues. 

We are very excited to announce that our mini-conference has been granted 4 L-CERP’s and you will be able to obtain them within 12 months of attending conferences as long as you viewed all lectures live or watched the recordings and you’ve submitted post tests for all sessions. If you do not need lactation credits you may register at a discounted price. If you experience financial hardship, please contact us, limited scholarship may be available.

One of the main missions of MVBN is mentoring new lactation leaders in the community and we’re excited to mentor aspiring lactation providers and leaders. If you are dreaming of turning your passion for breastfeeding in to an exciting career or want to volunteer to help other mothers you do not want to miss this event. You will hear about different opportunities and simple steps you can take to start working towards your goals.

We will be introducing our new lactation education scholarship honoring our beloved past president of MVBN Susie Niedzielski. Conference attendees will get an early opportunity to apply for a scholarship towards the lactation training of their choice. They will be invited to become a member off our organization and will get an opportunity to gain experience working with breastfeeding families in the Mohawk Valley. We hope you will apply today.
