Our Senior Curator of Early Western Art Dr. Michael Bennett gives us a glimpse into the craftsmanship of the Ancient Greeks with a rare bronze bracelet from the Geometric Period. The Geometric period witnessed the invention of the Greek alphabet; the foundations of the sanctuaries, Olympia and Delphi; the final compositional forms of the Iliad and the Odyssey, and the emergence of the city-state ("polis").
