Vegetarian lunches for my little loves!.
At the end of the week they were able to let me know some things that they wanted more of & less of!.
Tomorrow’s menu:.
Angelle - cashew milk unsweetened yogurt (I added a couple of drops of stevia) topped w organic strawberries, blueberries, & pumpkin seeds, 1/2 hard boiled egg, nuts ( , almonds, cashews) and seeds (pumpkin & sunflower), celery, Everything Crackers, tillamook cheddar, celery & coconut cluster.
Asher got the same but nuts were macadamia and he got sugar snap peas and jicama sticks instead of celery!
Really excited that they’re enjoying these lunches! I think I get a little over-excited and put too much in there at times!!!

Asher has asked to try vegetarianism (which we of course fully support!). I’ve had so much fun finding creative lunches for him!
Angelle said she wants to be vegetarian too but I don’t think she understands the concept yet (and she’s probably just in it for the new snacks!!!).
Side note: the day he told me he wanted to be a vegetarian he also told me he was burnt out on PBJ for lunch - so I was forced to get creative!!!!.
I was vegan for 4 1/2 years so I am excited to see Asher exploring different dietary options!!.

Fun adventures continue!!! Fishing on the Bayou today before heading to the beach! These were some smart fish - we went through bait quickly (or maybe we’re not great at baiting hooks!!). Either way, the fish got fed and we had fun!!!.
Oh and check out the jellyfish in the last pic - we saw a couple while fishing and unfortunately Asher got up close and personal with one on our first day🥴 @ Offatts Bayou

Guilt... FOMO... disappointment... brokenness - these are all things that were running through my head as I thought through my next workout program.
I’ve been working out through diastasis recti for 4 years. While my gap has closed a bit, it’s still there. And it’s frustrating.
So instead of hopping onto the next program that just released with Beachbody, I decided to pause and take a step in a different direction for the next 12 weeks.
Up to this point, I’d just watched some YouTube videos on DR modifications and then done what *I* thought was right.
And now I’ve decided to turn toward people who know what they’re actually doing!.
I started the program to see how learning from experts can help heal my gap as opposed to me trying to figure it out on my own.
I had feelings of FOMO at not doing the latest Beachbody program; feelings of brokenness and disappointment as my body “didn’t go back” this time (and it’s been 4 1/2 years).
So this morning, I simply prayed for those feelings of shame and disappointment and brokenness to be wiped clean.
I’m excited to see where this takes me!!

Thanks for the motivation!!! I was going to use today as a rest day, but I got the itch to move, so at 5:30pm, I decided to workout!!! (Only about 12 1/2 hours later than I normally workout!!!).
Angelle joined me and it was the perfect distraction!!! (I will post videos of her talking about today’s workout in just a minute!!).
Tomorrow I finish the MBF program - it was a fast & furious 3 weeks!!! I loved every workout & I didn’t let those BOD Ropes get the best of me! 🤣🤣.
PS - not sure where Angelle’s been learning push-up form...🤔🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

You’ll never grow if you’re not willing to change.
Change comes from a decision to work and walk in a different direction.
Change will happen when you challenge yourself in ALL aspects of your life - mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, relationally, environmentally, & financially.
How are you doing? Are you taking steps to grow some of those areas?.
If you read that list and skimmed over the ones you felt were too hard - or maybe the ones where pride whispers “I’ve already got that one covered!”, maybe those are the ones that you need to focus on????! 🤔.
Not trying to call you out or make you feel shame in areas you’re avoiding...sometimes you just need to hear a little from someone other that the voice inside your head (because that one isn’t always telling you the full truth!).
May I encourage you to change your path in one of those areas today? And maybe that first baby step is sitting down, pen to paper, and having an honest conversation with yourself on how you’re currently rate each one, where you’d like it to be and then jot down some ideas on how to make that change happen...but don’t stop there - allow a friend to hold you accountable.
Silence is lonely but there is strength in numbers. Share your thoughts with someone close to you - allow them to walk on this journey with you - to witness your growth! To help you refocus when you start to get distracted!
You can change...you just have to put in the work!.

It was a fight...literally!! I got banged up from these ropes!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣.
I like to think of them as little love “taps” 🥰💙💚🥰 to remind me to keep good form!!!.
At one point I even stopped to regroup to regain coordination... ❌nope❌ - still got whacked 😮🥴!!!.
But I didn’t stop - I kept going using each whack as a wake up call to refocus - not let my mind drift and to not allow the mind chatter to start 🗣🚫!.
If only I had these with me throughout my day to keep the mind chatter out the rest of the day!!!.
Today, I’m going to focus on focusing! Focus on keeping my mind present and not wandering off in my mind - it’s a dangerous and slippery slope that leads to false emotions and wasted energy! I’ve got no time for that!!! .

You can’t expect change to come from doing the same things...you have to consciously make the choice to PIVOT (yes, say like Ross from Friends!!).
You can expect change to come by sweeping bad habits under the rug, continuing to do them, hoping no one sees or notices or calls you out.
You can’t expect growth or new beginnings without hard times & trials.
Stop covering up. Stop hoping no one will see. And make a conscious choice to pivot...to do something different...to see the hard (but right) choice and to walk straight at it.
God never gives you more than HE can handle.
God will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear; but when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it (1 Cor 10:13).
If you have places in your life that need to change, the time for change is NOW...and YOU have to make the first step in a new direction.
You are strong and courageous. You are brave. You can do hard things.
Wake up and welcome change today!

MBF...today it stood for mental brain fart!!! .
Today was the most challenging for my coordination - not only with the BOD Ropes but the different jump rope moves - my brain was like wwwwhhhhaaaaaattttttt?!?! 🤣.
The nice thing is that it flew by!!!.
And I got one LESS round on my AMRAP at the end, but not beating myself up for it - I pushed the entire time but got a little tangled in the ropes & lost my pen in the middle of the AMRAP!!.
I didn’t stop - I kept moving and that’s all that matters!!!.
Oh and I tested the waters with a few plank jacks - not sure if I’ll continue with them, but I was just curious!!! I felt strong and supported. When I felt my core getting tired, I modified on my knees.

Coordination is NOT my middle name...
Y’all these little cordless jump ropes are gonna give me a lesson in patience (and coordination!!).
Watch til the end - I put it in slow-mo - my hands are doing two different thing!!! 🤣. No wonder I kept getting whacked with the little balls at the end of the ropes!!!.
Today was a real challenge - I woke up in the middle of a really awful dream and felt like I had a spirit of heaviness sitting on me like a ton of bricks (anger, frustration, sadness, loneliness, all the stuff ☹️!). It took me several hours this morning before I could shake it.
It affected my workout and my morning time with my family - ugh!!.
Taking thoughts captive left and right this morning - the weight is slowly lifting. Praise God! 🙏🏻🙌🏼

Here’s what all that 💦💦 looked like in action!!.
The kettlebell swings were super slow when I just held the handles of the bags on the first round (and I forgot to count my reps 🤦🏻‍♀️ because I was trying to figure out how to walk and swing at the same time!!).
The rest of the rounds I grabbed the actual bags and it helped a bunch!!!.
I don’t know how much they weighed, but I was super focused on letting my hips do the work!.

And for the sledgehammer hops I just grabbed the biggest water bottle!.
And the best part was that I could just use the water to hydrate when I was done! 🤣.

Sometimes you just have to make the best of it...
Booked a hotel w a fitness center so I could stay on track with my workouts (today’s workout needed heavy weights)...fitness center is closed.

Booked a hotel with a pool so the kids could swim. I thought I could have quiet time by the pool then let them swim while I did my workout next to the pool...Pool is closed.
So here I am, in our hotel room needing weights. I looked around and saw a bunch of empty water bottles. So I filled up all of the empty water bottles and grabbed the new ones from the fridge. I threw them in our cooler bags and I’m about get started.

Consistency...
My day starts and ends at the same time each day (4am to 9pm if you’re curious...OK, more like starting to doze on the sofa at 7:30pm!!).
Once this train gets moving, there’s no stopping. A constant check list rolls through my brain. Others depend on me and I have to give them my best.
So I prepare EVERY DAY.
First spiritually 🙏🏻 - this is my favorite time of the day, hands down! Peace, wisdom, clarity, guidance, love & joy - all come from this time with the Lord. This time never gets skipped.
Then I prepare physically. (And mentally as I get dressed!!).
One of the things that I have loved about doing in-home workouts for the past 15+ years - and even more so with 🦠 hanging around - is that my physical preparedness never has to suffer. There are no excuses.
I can do a workout anywhere in the world, anytime that I need to. I can modify to fit my environment - from working out in a field next to a horse, to inchworming in the sand and sun, to a small hotel room with only a yoga mat’s worth of room to move - I have no excuses.
And I have seen more progress in the past 2 weeks with this new program than I have with any other program I’ve gone through.
The way my body is being pushed for every 30 minute workout leaves me struggling to find my life (in a good way!!)!!!.
This time of spiritual, mental, and physical preparation has been a series of baby steps - asking myself how I can be better and then shifting to make changes - letting go of old habits and embracing new ones.
Life is like a giant trial and error experiment - we have the gift of being able to try new thing to see what works for us!.

🎶 Just Beat It 🎶.
Today’s (as many rounds as possible) goal...just beat last week’s score!.
Last week, I got nine rounds done in 4 minutes...
This week..... 🥁 please...
I BEAT IT - I got 10 Rounds done!!!.
Most of the work on the floor is modified for me - and I am still dripping with sweat at the end!!!.
Whew! Survived another day!!!

Today was a lot of WTF moments!!! New moves that my body has never done before - it was AWESOME!!! It was as much a mental workout as it was a physical one!.

It’s *almost* 5 o’clock somewhere, right?!??.
How do you unwind after a long day?.
Here’s my favorite...sip on a fizzy beverage while I cook dinner! Tonight’s fizzy beverage of choice ( of course! 🤷🏻‍♀️) is Ultima Pink Lemonade mixed with Topo Chico and sweetened with Stevia!
I love this time of the day - The kids are entertained, is wrapping up work and I get to prepare a meal for us to share.
Dinner time is one of my most cherished times because we’re all together with no distractions!.
So instead of being rushed into cooking, I plan ahead and set the Instant Pot to do most of the cooking while I make tomorrow’s lunches and put the finishing touches on side dishes!.

What a difference one week makes!!!.
Last week I was so confused with the at the end of the workout, but today I nailed it!!!.
I can’t wait to get my actual BOD ropes (the cordless jump ropes) in hand, but for now these little 1 pound hand weights have been giving me a run for my money!.

I can tuck my shirts in!!!! 👈🏼 progress in the past 7 days from doing the new program!.
I have from having my two sweet babies and it’s left my core all stretched out and there’s loose skin too!
Will it ever “go back”???...🤷🏻‍♀️.
But I do what I can to protect it and strengthen it. By the end of the day, my core is tired and pokes out. 🙄
Now that I’m back at work full time and sitting a lot during the day, supporting my core looks like wearing “support” type garments to help (thank you )...well support my core as I go about my day.
It makes me self conscious because it shifts all the loose skin up and makes me feel “fluffy”.
So I usually wear flow-y type tops that cover up my insecurities.
But I noticed today as I was leaving the house that I have my shirt tucked in (and no support garment) and I am excited about the progress I’ve made!!.
Now lemme just tell you - that loose skin is still there, but this little bit of progress makes me happy (especially taking this pic toward the end of the day!!)

Imma need some bigger weights!!!.
Needed to go up in weight this week but all I had were 10s and 15s, so I grabbed one of each to make it 25 pounds at the end!!!.
Exciting to see progress in just one week!!! Feeling strong!! 💪🏼💪🏼.

It’s like ripping off a 🩹 - it was over before we knew it!!!.
3 rounds flew by & I’m left feeling full of energy!! Which is good because my little friend is full of energy too and I’ll have to keep up with her for the rest of the day!!! 🤣 .
I think I’m going to do the stretch workout later today so I can lift tomorrow to start Week 2 on a Monday (silly, I know)!!
