Rain or shine, it’s calving time! We’re so excited to kick off our fall calving season…. Although we prefer sunshine, we needed the rain!

Did you know that snow on a cow’s back is actually a good sign??? It means that none of the body heat is escaping the undercoat to melt the snow and that makes a warm cow.

We love having opportunities to show the next generation what farmers and ranchers do to provide for our communities.

RSVPs are rolling in for our Puppies and Pumpkins event on September 23rd! This event is for families of children who would benefit from experiencing an adaptive/accessible pumpkin patch and other fall activities. It is at our brand new venue in Verona, TN. This event is completely complementary and we will provide food, drinks, sensory activities, educational stations, crafts, an inclusive hayride, and much more! Please email us to reserve your spot before August 30th!

Grass puppies like to take walks too! This is Squish, our recent bottle calf. We have to feed him from a bottle because his mama would kick him away when he tried to nurse naturally. This happens from time to time when raising cattle but it just means we get to spend some more time with our favorite animals.

It’s all hands on deck at The Fly Farm when there’s hay to put in the barn!
