Do Building Codes impact your budget? Absolutely‼️
(But maybe not how you expect it to!)
--
Adopting the most recent building codes helps determine a municipalities ISO score. Take a look at these two quotes we got to better understand how the City of Beaumont's impressive ISO score impacts your budget every month.
There are several factors that determine your home insurance payments, but a municipalities ISO score is a key factor. How big of a factor? For the same individual, 2 similar homes- one in Beaumont, and the other in one of our surrounding municipalities, showed a $130 / month difference, assuming the 10-Pay plan.
That's huge!
Please stay off the roads if at all possible. There is major icing on overpasses and roadways in Beaumont. We are working several crashes.
Exposed pipes can freeze and lead to water leaks. Protect your pipes by wrapping or insulating them. If the exposed pipe cannot be protected, turn off the water supply and drain the line. Cover or wrap your outside faucets and hose bibs.
Please do not drip faucets as this can negatively affect the water pressure throughout the City.
City Crews will be out responding to calls to turn off meters as long as weather conditions permit. Please report water issues to 311.

The board approved a standing motion from the Board Committee on the Long-Term Code Development Process to revise the code development cycle to incorporate two committee action hearings for each code group. This change expands the current process from two independent one-year cycles to a single continuous three-year cycle.
This change will not take effect until the code development cycle beginning in 2024 for the development of the 2027 International Codes.
