Machine All The Things
I'm studying the Machinist trade. Follow along as I document my projects and progress.
Working on some little k***s. Not too bad for a mill eh.
A little more tinkering on this little 1000 lb club plate. Not bad, pretty friggin rad actually. I think it’s starting to come together nicely!
Ran a few more of these over the weekend.
A few more of these stems for a friend of mine.
Just a quick hole punch tool prototype. Gotta go see if it’ll work now.
I’ve never done one of these spinny do-dads before. But now I have. Felicidades! 🎉
Weekend project! Really impressed with these tanks from no more crud in the fuel system! Running smooth!
Just need a little space every now and a again.
Been piecing away at some prototypes for a friend the last few months. Been a enjoyable project to tinker with on the weekends.
Been working on the Z a lot lately, hoping to do a little road trip soon. My son told me as we were replacing my the fuel pump over the weekend that we should post pictures “to inspire others to work on old cars too.” So here are a few pics for inspiration. Took a little drive in the country to try out the new pump. It drove real nice.
We’ve adopted a new motto this year go with our candle tradition at dinner. “It is better to light a candle, than to curse the darkness.” We also each share our joys and sorrows as we take our turn lighting a candle. Did another candle holder for 2022 with a few slight improvements. It’s become a really nice family tradition that we all very much enjoy each day.
Just day dreaming this morning about all the fun we’ve had over the years.
Super stoked with how these 3D prints turned out! Whoever at worked on this for me did such a great job! Thank you!!!
A lathe would be nice, but for something quick and dirty, it ain’t bad.
Made another one of these, only bigger this time. Tried to use the tormach but it was just too darn big for the little mill. That’s alright got it done on a manual machine instead!
Made a few of these
Did a little tinkering this afternoon. What y’all think?
More titanium dominos in the works for
The cajoling from the other day, failure is hard but it’s the best way to learn.
Did a little broaching today to cut a key slot on this bracket I made the other day. Pretty cool stuff. Made the arbor on the lathe and cut the slot on the mill. Put it all together on the press to cut the key slot.
If there’s a will there’s a way! Definitely didn’t all fit within the travel on my little machine, 29” long by 6” wide. Split the operations into sections and got it done. Machined the end profiles first, then each slot, then the holes in the middle.
cncmachining
For my little machine this was kind of a big job, but with a little cajoling we got it dialed in.
Worked on a little poker chip prototype for a client this morning.
Cut a few chips on the lathe today.
Ain’t fancy but it got the small run of 20 parts done..
Just a little engraving job this afternoon
