This is brought to you by our Past President Pamela Butler, who presented at Homecoming!
New Orleans Illini Club was informally represented at last week's Homecoming by Pam Butler, Past President. Here she is with Jean Driscoll, Assistant Dean for Advancement, College of Applied Health Sciences (AHS). Pam received her two degrees from Illinois in AHS, and Jean has been her primary contact for increased involvement in the College.
If the name Jean Driscoll, BS 1991, MS 1993, sounds familiar, she was a world class athlete for Illinois, as well as the Wheelchair Division of the Boston Marathon with five world records and eight wins, as well as five Gold Medals in the Paralympic Games.
Pam says Jean is also a world class person, admitting they call each other "Bestie".
We won't discuss the outcome of the game, but it sure looks like it was a beautiful day to celebrate being an Illini!
While the time is still TBD, we'll absolutely be at the Mid City Yacht Club on Saturday, Nov. 11 to watch the Fighting Illini face off against the Hoosiers! Mark your calendars.

This year's scholarship will be in memory of Richard Stockbarger, who passed earlier this year and is the father of one of our New Orleans Illini Alumni Club leaders, Shelli. He graduated with a degree in architecture from Illinois in 1950. He was a well known architect and tennis player in his hometown of Springfield, Illinois. More recently, he relocated to the New Orleans home of Shelli and her husband Dennis, accompanying them to many Club events. Shelli says it means so much honoring her father by helping a local student benefit as he did by attending Illinois.
Thank you for your consideration!
