Luther Riley to Direct R.E.A.C.H. Sports Camp At NEW HOPE Baptist Church Jackson, Miss. (June 14, 2010) –

On Monday, June 28, New Hope Baptist Church at 5202 Watkins Drive, Jackson, MS will launch their Summer Basketball Camp for Boys and Girls Ages 5 to 8th Grade. The fee for the camp is $85 per session. Morning Session is from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm and the Afternoon Session is from 1:00 pm to 5:30 pm.

Nike Certified Instructor and former USA Jr Olympic Coach Luther Riley and his “Tough To Guard” staff will be the camp instructors. This will be Coach Riley’s first camp of the summer after returning from a 10 day trip to Taiwan where he was asked by Nike to lead training exercises for the Taiwan National Team, a team made of the top 50 players in the entire country.

Coach Riley has won 4 Mississipppi High School State Championships, 1 Grand Slam Championship. He has been named Mississippi High School Coach of the Year 5 times, Riley is one of 6 coaches to coach at Nike World Headquaters for their Nike Skills Academy and he has coached in the Michale Jordan Classis in Louisville, KY. R.E.A.C.H. Sports (Recreational, Evangelistic, Activities developing Character and promoting Health) is a program created by Jim Adams, Youth and Recreation Director at New Hope Baptist Church to use sports as a tool for reaching kids for Christ.

The program provides participants with the right balance of basketball instruction from one of the finest basketball minds in the country coupled with strong foundational teachings on bible based truths.
