The Army Engineer Spouses Club is pleased to announce the availability of the following scholarships for the 2014-2015 school year. Application Deadline is March 15, 2015. The Army Engineer Memorial Awards were established in 1973 as a living memorial to Engineer Officers killed in Vietnam and are given annually to honor all Engineer Officers who died in the line of duty. To qualify for an award, you must be a graduating high school senior who is a citizen of the United States and whose sponsor, parent, or legal guardian is a Member of the Army Engineer Spouses Club and U.S. Army Engineer (active duty, reserve/national guard, retired or deceased) or current Department of the Army employee of the United States Army Corps of Engineers. The scholarships are open to students in all fields of study and are based on academic and extracurricular achievement during high school. All monies awarded must be applied toward tuition or scholastic expenses at a college, university, technical or vocational school.

The Geraldine K. Morris Award was established in 2006. Mrs. Morris served as an Army nurse, was Honorary President of the Army Engineer Spouses’ Club and wife of the 44th Chief of Engineers, LTG (Ret) John Morris. The award designed to honor her service and memory is available to a graduating high school senior who intends to enroll in a program leading to a nursing degree or certification, and is a citizen of the United States whose sponsor, parent, or legal guardian is a member of the Army Engineer Spouses club and U.S. Army Engineer (active duty, reserve/national guard, retired or deceased) or current Department of the Army employee of the United States Army Corps of Engineers. This award will be renewable based on the student's GPA and their maintaining full-time enrollment in a nursing program.

Have you ever been to a military ball. Has it been awhile since your last formal. Come out and join us and get information you need or come and brush up on your etiquette. Hope to see you all there.

Dear Families,

Please consider donating blood during the 11th EN BNs sponsored Blood Drive
for the Armed Forces Blood Center. It is scheduled for 16 and 17 December
at Building 2880 (the old 362nd EN Co bldg). Each of the companies has a
different block of time but spouses can go any time. The T shirt they are
giving out says 'stay calm and donate blood' or something like that.

16 December (Tuesday)
HHC - 0630-0900
60th - 0900-1200
17 December (Wednesday)
FSC - 0630-0900
63rd - 0900-1200

The blood they collect from these drives goes to support military members
injured in combat overseas and here locally too. This is the primary source of blood
and if they don't reach their quotas they have to purchase the blood from
the Red Cross. December is a tough month for them to make their quota because many people take leave and are just not around during the holidays. Here is where you can make a difference! Give blood and help the Armed Forces save the life of someone's loved one.

Attention 63rd Families

This months FRG meeting that was cancelled last week has been rescheduled for this Wednesday November 12, 2014 at the Yellow Ribbon room which is located to the left of the parking lot with the water tower near our company building. We will be meeting from 1730-1830 or 5:30 pm- 6:30 pm. If you have any questions please let us know by sending us a email at [email protected]. We hope to see you all there.
