Heyyyy, my friend Tom got married (…plus it’s the first time I’ve put on a suit in yearrrrrss 😉) so I figured I should get a photo.
I haven’t been to a wedding in quite a while and it was profound to see them exchange vows. I was actually moved to tears - which surprised me. Just got swept up in the moment and the love in the room.
As the reception was winding down (I try and close them out whenever possible🍷🤷🏻♂️ ) Tom came over and said, "Damn I love you man, I’m gonna kiss you." And luckily was there to capture the photo - as she always is.

Workin’ on some new tunes for you guys. I’m hoping to have an album release party by spring or summer. Who wants to come? The parties are always sooooo much fun. Live music and nice people and singalongs and maybe even adult beverages.
This will be my 3rd full-length album. My first was “Private Moon.” My second album was “Lucky Back Then.”
I’ve already released two songs off the new album., “Pretty Sure That’s Love” and “I See You For All That You Are.” But all the rest are Top Secret. Shhhhhhh 🤐

It’s Becca Bolde! IG Friend to Real Life Friend! In fact, it’s a full fam jam at the homestead. That’s her dad and mom and boyfriend and we were all participating in the hootenanny. How fun is that??
Becca and I have been online besties since I first got on IG, a few years back. I was such a huge fan of her insanely brilliant creations. She also did some visual effects for my videos, including the entire animation video of my Frenglish song, Lost In Translation. It’s a great music video – thanks to Becca - if you have a chance to check it out on YT.

Her father, Lannie Bolde, is a talented singer/songwriter, and has recorded his own original songs and album. 🤩
What a weekend it was exploring local restaurants and getting the whole fam in on the jam (and meeting their sweet doggo JasmIne.) I am so grateful for your friendship BB 😍💙 and loved meeting your cool parents and Bart.

The mental challenges of running are similar to the mental challenge of life, imo. I’m proud to say I finished a hilly 8 mile race yesterday. It wasn’t easy, and it wasn’t fast. But it was rewarding. And it got me to thinking.
Running has gotta be one of the mentally toughest things out there. One side of your brain keeps saying, “Just please stop and the pain will end.” 😂 And the other side of your brain is fighting it saying “You can do this. You’re tough. C’mon dude, move your a** ” And that fight is always there. The fight to quit or to push on.
And that reminds me of life. There are things you’ve always wanted to pursue. Things that you think might radically change your life. Or greatly add to your life fulfillment. But Negative Brain comes in and says. Maybe next year. It’s so much easier to just sit here and not pursue it. Just stop those dreams already and go do the laundry.
But the key to pursuing a big goal is to not think of it as a DREAMMM 🗯 That’s too lofty and non-specific. You wake up one day and dreams are are gone.
You have to deal with it more like running. Set a life goal, something you believe is out of your league. (I want to make an album. I want to run a Half Marathon) Set medium goals with specific timelines that get you there. (I need my rough tracks by this date I need to be at 3 miles by X date, 6 miles by X) And then work toward those goals every single day with specific small goals along the way. (I will have a new song written by the end of the week. I will run 1.5 miles today at a slow pace) And just keep working. And working. And working. You can get there.
Small attainable goals lead to larger goals which lead you to things you never believed you could do.

Whatever gave you joy in 2021, do more of that in 2022. Whatever you didn't like doing in 2021 - do less of that. Now, that might sound like the simplest and worst advice ever :-D but you'd be surprised how many people don't follow that simple rule.
If someone wasn't there for you - led you to more pain or anxiety in 2021- see less of that person. If someone made you feel good about yourself and supported you, then find a way to see more of that person in 2022. If playing music made you feel better, do more of that. If doing laundry made you unhappy...well, you gotta clean your underwear eventually....,but you know what I mean. Feel good = Do more. Feel bad = Do Less.
As simplistic as this sounds it took me years (decades?🤔) to figure it out and then actually implement it into my life. It aint easy at all, and some tough decisions need to be made. But it's the only way to live your life with joy - following your truth. And becoming who you were meant to be. And anyone who doesn't support you in that endeavor, they get the boot. 💥🥾💥

OMGGG. It’s Michael Frikken Weatherly!! 😱 Any NCIS/Tony DiNozzo fans out there? Holy starstruck.🤩
I went to order a salad at a local place and Michael Goshdang Weatherly sat down right next to me. I have watched him on the original NCIS (with Gibbs and all of them) for 10 years+. I know pretty much every single episode. So I recognized him instantly. And I looked over at him and said, “Hey Michael.” He looked up, flashed a movie star smile, and said “Well heyy there. Do I know you?” And I said, “No. But I deffffinitley know you.” And he laughed and said thank you. And then I said, “Me and my girlfriend are huge fans of NCIS. And she’d kill me if I didn’t get a photo of you. Especially because she has a major crush on you.” He cracked up and said, “Of course!” - and we got this shot you see here.
What a nice guy. Friendly, talkative, charming, funny - and so generous with his time. You can also catch him on his new series “Bull” which is a great show as well.

Heyyyy. Here’s a photo of me playing at a gig. It was a brilliant day at The sun was out, kids were dancing, pumpkins were being painted and tunes were being played.
Fall is my favorite season. Crispy weather and the leaves changing here in Connecticut. The smells are amazing. Especially the fire pits at night. You can smell them 5 houses away. (Unless that’s my neighbor’s house on fire. I’ll go check on them just to be sure. 99% sure it was a fire pit. ) 🔥

What a day playing music at the Octoberfest. Pumpkins, pizza, live music, kids, bagels, and beer. (No kids drank beer. I made sure of it.)
The most spectacular weather for this wonderful annual family event at the local farm. Thank you to and who arranged for me to play at this. So much fun.
The Rob Morton Salt Stickers were a huuuuge hit with the youngins. Once one kid had them, there was no goin back. Every single kid there came up for one.😂 (“….and can I have an extra one please for my sister?…” ) That boy didn’t have a sister. Just wanted two stickers. 💥🕺🏽 🧂🧂 Smart kid.

Blackbird by I just adore this sweet and melancholy song. One of my favorites to play.
A long time ago, when I just started learning guitar, I saw a friend playing this song at a small party. it was such a beautiful moment. And I said to myself - I HAVE to learn that song. If it’s the only song I ever learn on guitar, I have to learn how to play Blackbird.
The skill level required to play it was way out of my league at the time - I was a true beginner. But I just committed to it. Kept at it. For months. A little more each day. A lot of practicing. It took a very long time play it somewhat smoothly. And even longer to be able to sing it while playing it. I still make mistakes when I play it.
I guess my point is. Truly great things in your life…. Great athletic accomplishments. Great collections. Great gardens. Great songs. Great albums. Great dance routines. Great jobs. Great friendships. Great relationships. They all take time and care and commitment. Pick out the few things you want to conquer - to be great at - and put in the time it takes. It’s always worth it. And you’ll always carry in your heart that sense of accomplishment.

“No Such Thing” by one of my all-time favorite artists, There’s a good lesson for us all if you listen to the lyrics in this song. He wrote it in his early twenties before he was… JOHN MAYER. It’s about how school and parents and society tell you to stay the course, do what everyone tells you to do, and what everyone else is doing. But John followed his heart, his own path.
Mayer actually grew up in a town right next to me in Connecticut. He started playing guitar at 13, and suddenly, nothing else mattered. He was so obsessed with it, his parents took him to a psychiatrist. (He was deemed normal.) At 19, he dropped out of college and moved to Atlanta to pursue a career in music. I’m sure he didn’t get much support back then. But he played in bars and wrote songs and kept working hard toward his dream. “No Such Thing” was his first hit. Today, he is considered one of the greatest living guitarists in popular music.
Kids, FYI, this doesn’t mean quit school and make a million dollars playing music. Because odds are, that ain’t gonna happen. It just means to listen to that voice in your heart, that tells you what makes you happy & fulfilled. And pursue that as best you can. We only have one life to live on this planet (as far as I know) and a life goal shouldn’t be to pay bills.
Do what makes you glad to be alive and fills your heart. It took me a while to figure it out. But I’m grateful (and lucky) I eventually got there. As John says in the song:
