For those interested in a quieter gathering, join us for dinner from 7-9 at the Rathskeller in a private room. We can have 60 people for dinner so be on the lookout for the evite to sign up next week!

For those interested in a heartier party, join us from 9 - ? In the Rathskeller Biergarten to dance to a 90’s cover band, Fool House! No RSVP needed. We hope you’ll join us for the whole evening. Look for that evite!

We have a date for our 30th high school reunion! Save September 23rd on your calendars. We will have a dinner for those wanting something low key and quiet and then a dance party afterwards. Look for more details to come!

For those of you who went to Ben Davis Junior High or were aware of Mr. Ellis through his work with the school board, he will be missed. He was a bright light for all who had the honor to know him. 😪

Please be in prayer for the family of Stan Ellis, a charter member of John Wesley Free Methodist Church who entered heaven late last night. Along with his love for the Lord, I’m thankful for Stan’s passion for education over the years as a teacher and later as a School Board president in Indianapolis’ Wayne Township. I first got to know Stan better at Greenville University’s 2016 homecoming when he was honored as the Distinguished Alumnus; this photo was taken near the start of the homecoming parade. In his last year of life while battling cancer and losing his wife, Stan remained an encourager and would leave kind comments on articles in the Light + Life Conversations Facebook group for the online magazine I edit. I hope to meet up with Stan again in a heavenly homecoming someday.

With a heavy heart tonight, we share the news of the passing of Rochelle Standberry, a class of 1993 graduate. If you were lucky enough to know her, you know that she was a great friend who was exceedingly kind. Rest In Peace, Rochelle.

As many of you already know, Mr. Smith (a.k.a. Smitty) is retiring. After 40 long years of teaching, he is hanging up his jump rope, or whatever P.E. teachers hang up. His last bit of his teaching career is likely not how he thought it would end. While I know that Mr. Smith is not one for fanfare and has always told me that one day we would look up and he would be gone, I thought it was important to not let this moment go uncelebrated. His wife agrees and together we would love for you to contribute to this video montage we plan to put together!
