Where does your money go when you donate to KokuaforMaui.com? Yes it goes to HHawaii Red Crossbut then what?
$.90 of every dollar goes directly to Maui.
Donations have a number of uses:
• To provide sheltering as we move those impacted to hotels.
• When specific requests are made for items based on need, we purchase those.
• Meals.
• Relief supplies.
• Recovery planning and other assistance.
• The logistics of storing and moving those items to best benefit those in need.
Since the fires began, the AAmerican Red Cross alongside government and community partners, has provided more than 12,700 overnight shelter and hotel stays on Maui and Oahu, and has provided disaster health, mental health and spiritual care services, and more than 71,500 meals and snacks to people in need.
To date, the Red Cross reunification support team has also received nearly 3,000 welfare information requests and has successfully completed more than 2,400 of those requests. To provide further support to affected families, the Red Cross has begun offering financial assistance to those who need help recovering and whose primary residences were destroyed or sustained eligible structural damage due to the wildfires. This will empower those people to cover the needs specific to them.

iHeartMedia Honolulu Friday announced that all iHeartRadio Honolulu radio stations and their morning shows will be hosting beginning immediately. The radio fundraiser will support American Red Cross, Pacific Islands Region’s relief efforts on Maui.
Monetary donations to the Hawai’i Red Cross for Maui relief efforts are being accepted on www.KokuaforMaui.com
“With thousands of buildings burned to the ground and the casualty count increasing daily, each of us can play a part in bringing stability and supplies to Maui,” said Scott Hogle, President, iHeartMedia Hawaii. “Thank you for joining iHeartRadio Hawaii in giving to Kokua for Maui.”
"The damage caused by the Maui wildfires is heartbreaking, but seeing so many people come together to help our friends and family on the Valley Isle speaks to the very spirit and mission of the Red Cross," says Diane Peters-Nguyen, CEO of the American Red Cross, Pacific Islands Region. "All of us working together as one ohana is what will ensure that the community will thrive again."
“The people of Maui are our neighbors and iHeartMedia Honolulu is proud to do whatever we can to empower our ohana and friends on Maui to recover and rebuild in the face of what appears to be the deadliest natural disaster in Hawaii history,” said Jamie Hyatt, Senior Vice President of Programming, iHeartMedia Honolulu.

Typhoon Mawar struck Guam with damaging winds of 140 mph. It was the strongest storm to hit the island in two decades, and the people are still working to recover. Right now, American Red Cross volunteers are working to help those in need.
Parts of the island were flooded by intense rainfall and many residents could be without electricity and water for weeks. Every day, people receive meals, clean up kits and pet supplies thanks to the American Red Cross. They have assisted over 2,400 households and the number can continue to grow with your help.

Radiothon raises thousands for those impacted by Tonga eruption, tsunami The radio company is hoping to raise more before the campaign ends on Friday at midnight.
This is one of the worst volcanic eruptions the Pacific has experienced in decades.
The volcanic eruption and tsunami that hit Tonga have caused widespread damage throughout the country and caused ripples around the world. Although communication within the country is limited, reports and aerial surveillance are starting to show the extent of the damage.
We know homes have been destroyed and water sources damaged. Tongans will need support to rebuild their communities, to stay safe from water-borne diseases like dengue, and the health risks posed by the plumes of volcanic ash that still hang in the air.
It is estimated that up to 80,000 people have been affected by the latest catastrophe. The full extent of damage and need has yet to be determined.
Every dollar counts:
• $8 can provide two 10-litre jerry cans to help a family store and transport safe drinking water.
• $85 can provide a shelter kit with tarpaulins, ropes and tools to help people put a temporary roof over their head after a disaster.
• $255 can provide an essential relief pack, with mosquito nets, jerry cans, buckets, hygiene kit, kitchen set, blankets, shelter tool kit and tarpaulins to give a family a new start after a disaster.
iHeartRadio Honolulu is raising funds for the Hawaii Red Cross who will get 100% of the funds to the Tongan Red Cross Society.
PLEASE DONATE NOW IF YOU CAN BELOW OR IN PERSON AT ANY ONE OF THE Hawaiian Financial Federal Credit Union's 13 OAHU LOCATIONS & 1 MAUI LOCATION.
