Received a wonderful book last Christmas which is my go to now for sourcing colour palettes/combinations which I wouldn’t usually consider, and I love the outcome!

Had a lot of fun with this one! My submission for CONNECTION Sheet Zine:
Digitally illustrated on Procreate, I wanted to convey a visual representation of what it feels like to form a deep connection with something or someone.
To help me with the ‘Connection Theme’ the creative concepts primarily take inspiration from neurology, space and time and technology. Through thought and expression, how an electrical current within our brains can spark something which appears insignificant at first, but then develops into a strong spiritual bond. Connections can happen anywhere at anytime when you least expect them to.

Kicking off 2023 with a piece which I was hesitant to showcase but completed last year- I wanted to revisit poster designing which I enjoyed greatly at Uni, and I just want to get the ball rolling once again!

(Honestly can’t believe it took me so long to watch this movie).

Working in Progress- at the moment I’m just using primary colours to establish the tonal values in the face. I’m using pastel pencils as well as colouring pencils, and I’m going back and forth with the mediums.

In my happy place once again messing with acrylics- featuring my small makeshift art corner.
It’s been some time again, but an art break was well needed for rejuvenation! Art blocks are a nightmare and I find myself with one too many recently…and being busy with other commitments doesn’t help either, however, I’ve learnt not to push myself too much when it comes to lack of inspiration-and rather just experiencing the chaos of life to then use as inspiration. Personally it’s a great visual way of reflecting and growing! ✨

It’s been 4 bloody months not posting anything. That’s a new record haha 😅
It’s not perfect but I was really in the mood for some messy expressive charcoal carnage last night, and this is the outcome; I was skeptical with the appearance of it to begin with, but I trusted the process.
I particularly like the nose and mouth of this portrait, the tonal values are the perfect distribution of shadow and highlights.

Digital responses whilst listening to music:
I wanted to express the sounds by visually representing it with the use of mark making, colours and lines- Generally speaking this methodology helps me to remove any judgements that I have towards my art and I find myself having more fun and being able to be much more expressive.
I specifically used the 'liquify' tool on Adobe Photoshop to create the marbling effect, but I also incorporated other various pen tools to achieve different line variations.

Hello it's been awhile-

Recently I've been detesting every single piece of artwork that I've created, and no matter how much I push myself to overcome the brick wall that's blocking my way, another one twice as high forms.

Perhaps it's the circumstances that all of us are enduring currently due to the pandemic, but god is it draining.

Nevertheless in an attempt to somehow miraculously come out of this art block, here are some pages from my final piece for my Authorship Uni Project. The basis of this project was a visual response of my dissertation and a celebration of the figures that I explored and a couple of others who I found of intriguing.

The textured double page spreads take inspiration from the Rorschach tests, where an individual interprets what they see from the marks shown to them.

I wanted to draw one of my muses and wish this absolute legend .soup a MASSIVE Happy Birthday! 🎂🎉🎂🎉🎂🎉

I'll keep this brief but you're such an incredible soul. You're one of the kindest, most down to earth individuals I've ever met. You've helped me a lot during the bad times, but you've also given me some fantastic memories, and for that I'm forever grateful to have a friend like you in my life.

Your art is absolutely INCREDIBLE and I know a lot of great things are gonna come your way, I can't wait to celebrate all of your successes!
