I don’t always sleep all night through, but when I do, I need to share it with the world (well, with the few people that read this)

Ladies, any stage of menopause is hard, no one else understands what we are going through, only us. I get you. I totallly get you.

I’m not saying it’s all rainbows and butterflies for me, but I am seeing some (good changes)

Sleeping is scarce, but I’ve noticed that sometimes listening to this (see picture) works. You probably can find similar stuff on YouTube. I happen to have the Calm app (through my work) and this section of the “deep sleep” section is working for me. Well, most of the time.

Ladies, night sweats, hot flashes, anxiety, depression, moodiness, insomnia, and name 1,000 more symptoms are that - symptoms. The main cause of our issues is menopause (whatever stage you’re in) which means our hormones are depleting.

I am no expert but I’ve been listening to a podcast that’s explaining things in terms I can understand and it’s all making sense. See picture for the name of the podcast.

We are going through puberty in reverse. We are not having any more babies. So, progesterone which is the hormone that supports pregnancy (PRO: in support of ; GEST: gestation/pregnancy; ONE: hormone) is depleting first. So irregular menstrual cycles are happening.

Then we start depleting our estrogen, which is why our figure is changing, our mood, our metabolism.

When you treat each symptom: like your hot flashes, night sweats, depression, etc etc you’re not treating the root cause of menopause which is the depleting of estrogen.

Again, I’m not doctor but this all makes sense. Treating those symptoms is like watering the leaves on a tree. You have to address the root cause.

Supplements help too.

I’m not saying get on a HRT treatment and be cured, well, I wish it was that easy.

Men will never understand this stage of our lives. We are complicated. We really can’t help it.

Fitness doesn’t look the same for everyone. You can take your time, modify an exercise and still work on your fitness.

You don’t have to go extreme, you just have to go!

Do what works for you, and do it daily. Even if it’s just 15-20 minutes.

The most important part is to be CONSISTENT.

Non-Scale Victory - bought new jeans the same size as a year ago…. and I am sporting a top that fit a year ago and I had put away a few months back with the hopes I’d fit into it again.
