Happy ASHA Virtual Advocacy Day! Here is the link to participate: https://takeaction.asha.org/asha/VAD

Once here, you can read about the five different issues and click “Students: Contact your members of Congress!” under the issue(s) of your choice. Next, you fill out your information so it knows who to send your letter to depending on your area. After that, it presents you with a pre-filled out letter with details about the topic you picked, and you fill in your signature and submit! It lets you know who your letter was sent to. Please send a screenshot of either the “thank you” page you get after submitting the letter or your email confirmation to Gabby ([email protected]). Thank you for participating and making your voice heard!

"Representatives from Serving at the Crossroads (SATC) (Bob Sumner, Peter Thompson, and Sylvia Bastani) met with the West Chester University (WCU) chapter of the National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NSSLHA) to receive donations collected by NSSLHA. Items included medical and academic supplies. Beginning in the fall of 2017, SATC has enlisted that help of West Chester University to support international projects with SATC partner, Manos Amigas in La Entrada, Honduras. SATC is a United States-based non-profit that supports the Manos Amigas clinic in La Entrada, Honduras.
Dr. Patricia Swasey Washington, NSSLHA Advisor, who participated in the first WCU-led medical brigade to Manos Amigas in October of 2017, was able to witness first-hand the dire needs of the Honduran people and how Manos Amigas benefits the community of La Entrada. She has initiated an ongoing project, organized by NSSLHA, to raise funds and collect supplies for SATC/Manos Amigas.
