B L U S H R E S P O N S E : A collection of hyper saturated garments made from handloom fabrics developed with the weavers of Kunjipalli in Kerala. The custom designed satin material is based on a glossy finish cotton fabric that is traditionally used for bedding and upholstery.

Imagined as a 2-D representation of 3-D garments, this collection was made as flattened patterns embedded on a base layer. The base layer in silk organza is then draped over the dress form to make new and unexpected silhouettes as these pieces morph against the curves of the mannequin.

A joint project by the Meghalaya Government and the French Embassy, the Ramie Project will be on display at the Calais Museum for Lace and Fashion in France from 18th June to 31st December of this year. KALEEKAL is honoured to be a part of this collaborative effort to develop and promote the Ramie fabric.
