On Egyptian Revolution Day: July 23rd

The country of Egypt has been plagued with challenges lately, but this year’s Egyptian Revolution Day marks the release of Secret Destruction, a novel by Kitchener-Waterloo author Joseph Hergott, which tells a fascinating story set in both ancient and modern-day Egypt.

Hergott, son of previous Hergott Cider Mill owners Gerrie and Joe, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) 13 years ago. Unable to continue his employment, he invested his time in his love of the Egyptian culture, first through artwork, and then through the writing of an intricate story of intrigue and suspense.

Secret Destruction begins during the reign of Pharaoh Amenemope. The author seamlessly ties together elements of the historical account of the pharaoh, such as the writing of “The Wisdom of Amenemope”, with an imaginative and intricately written plotline. The intrigue and suspense continues throughout the novel, cleverly tying the modern-day second part of the book to the ancient story.

Early reviews have readers saying: “A must read for those who are looking for a true adventure,” “The story captivated me right away,” and “the story was so intriguing that I had a hard time putting the book down.”
