See you at Michigan State University May 24-25, 2024 for the National Tournament!

The National Science Olympiad tournament took place last weekend at Wichita State University. Congratulations to the teams that represented Michigan! Meads Mill Middle School (Northville) placed 26th and and Clague Middle School (Ann Arbor) placed 10th out of 60 division B teams. Grand Haven High School placed 13th and Ann Arbor Pioneer High School placed 24th out of 60 division C teams.

Bucs place 13th at Science Olympiad national tournament The Buccaneers had a successful tournament weekend in Wichita, Kansas, coming in 13th place overall at Science Olympiad nationals.

Congratulations to all of the teams who competed at the State Tournament on Saturday! Meads Mill (Northville) and Clague (Ann Arbor) Middle Schools, and Grand Haven and Ann Arbor Pioneer High School teams will represent Michigan at the National Tournament at Wichita State University! Science Olympiad has an excellent relationship with Yale University, which hosts the popular Yale Science Olympiad Invitational Tournament. We'd like to offer another Yale experience and invite Science Olympiad students to apply for Yale Young Global Scholars. For the past eight years, we have helped to expand their reach and bring more STEM-focused students to the program.
Yale Young Global Scholars is a summer academic enrichment and leadership program held in June-July 2022 that brings together students from over 130 countries and all 50 U.S. states for two-week academic sessions. During YYGS, students attend lectures by Yale faculty, as well as small seminars taught by Yale undergraduate and graduate students. STEM students also work in capstone project groups to identify a global problem facing the world today, conduct rigorous background research, and propose impactful solutions to their peers and instructors. This summer, YYGS will offer sessions in Innovations of Science & Technology; Literature, Philosophy & Culture; Politics, Law, & Economics; and Solving Global Challenges.
Need-based financial aid is available, and YYGS encourages students from all backgrounds to apply!
