I left my house, in 20 degree weather, to meet some guy that has been asking me out for weeks. We made the plan today. I reconfirmed with him 15 minutes prior to the time we were supposed to meet. Here I am, having my Roasted with Foam, by myself. Because I've been stood up, again. I'm not actually that upset, because it's delicious and I need the calories, plus, my nails by .nails look amazing. Why are the men of literally garbage? It's absolutely baffling to me that any human being thinks this is an acceptable thing to do to someone else.

I went to Charlotte last weekend to visit a dear family friend, but since I was already there, I figured I'd do a little preview to decide which restaurants I needed to book reservations for in on 9NOV. Due to limited time, I was only able to try two, but I really lucked out with the two I picked - Supperland and Dot Dot Dot. I started with .land, where our fantastic server (I think her name was Sarah?) was a kindred spirit. Not only did she take excellent care of us, but she also helped me decide which places to book for Savor Charlotte. Based on her recommendations, I booked to sample 's food, then to see .ron, because he is as genuinely nice, as he is talented. I'm planning to end the evening at 's gorgeous bar, drinking , of fame, delicious . Which restaurant(s) are you planning to try on Thursday?
It's not too late to get your ticket for tonight to go eat and drink all the things at the Grand Tasting Westside! It's an all-star lineup, including my favorite , , and more! You do NOT want to miss this event! Link in bio to purchase your ticket
I finally made it to and it was a bit of a mixed bag. Let me preface the review by stating my credentials. I'm a KCBS Certified Master BBQ Judge, with over 70 contests under my belt. That means that I've had over 1,680 different samples of competition . I've also cooked with professional teams, taken BBQ classes and taken a written exam on judging BBQ.
I am casually acquainted with and I met at an event recently. I asked Nick when I should come in, because I like to give restaurants a little time to iron out the kinks before I visit, and he told me to come in the following week.
My dad and I went for a late lunch on a Thursday. He ordered the Chicken Salad Sandwich, which was excellent - tender, smoky chunks of chicken, with crisp bits of celery, in a creamy mayo dressing and a side of Marinated Cucumbers, which were bright and crunchy - a nice contrast to the rich sandwich. I ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich, which was inedible. Neither the slaw, nor the Carolina Gold BBQ sauce provided enough moisture to choke down the incredibly dry pulled pork. Luckily, I had also ordered .25 lb of their smoked turkey, which was moist and flavourful, so l still had enough to eat.
For sides, I went with the Mac & Cheese, which reminded me of Publix' mac & cheese, and a Corn Muffin. The corn muffin was intensely corn flavored with a lovely light texture and served warm, so it soaked up the sorghum whipped butter. I could happily eat about a dozen of those. They also sent out the Braised and Brussels Slaw for me to try. The greens were a little too salty for me, but I'm pretty salt sensitive, and could have used some more vinegar and heat. The slaw was sweet and super creamy - I'm pretty sure I put on a few pounds just sitting near it 😅 but would absolutely order it again!
Lastly, they sent me home with a slice of the Gooey , which hit all the right notes of decadently rich, chewy, buttery, salty and crunchy, with buttermilk whipped cream to keep it from being cloyingly sweet.
Also, if you're an iced tea fanatic, like I am, it's worth noting that they serve , my personal favorite!
Only a few minutes left to buy online! But, don't worry, you can still buy at the door!

Looking for something fun to do this week? The Southeastern Trust For Parks & Land is celebrating their 10th Anniversary at Sweetwater on Tuesday night starting at 6PM. Doing good, while eating, drinking and dancing? What's not to love?!? Only a few tickets remaining, hope to see you there!
Southeastern Trust for Parks and Land We are responding to the need for the preservation of undeveloped land and making it available for responsible use for public recreation, science education, plant and wildlife habitat, and the quiet enjoyment of nature.
When I saw the email from saying that they were having a contest to celebrate , I figured, why not. I haven't tortured Sam recently. I might as well take him for a car ride {gasp} to somewhere he's never been before {shudder} and make him sit on the patio with me and eat {the horror of it all} Fortunately, he's very good at pretending bad things aren't actually happening to him, you should see him when he's having a bath, so he managed to survive the ordeal unscathed, even after tried to pet him {the absolute indignity}
Happy 8 Years on Instagram to me! I celebrated with llamas in pajamas, like you do. The 8 year anniversary is the anniversary, isn't it? 😁 A group of girlfriends and I donned our best pajamas and went to Laughs, Llamas & Pajamas at the Lawn at Uptown. The comedians from had us in stitches, but the star attraction were the , who were such an absolute joy, if extremely difficult to photograph in low light 😂 I even got to let one take a treat from my mouth! In case anyone was wondering, llama treats are quite tasty, sweet and kind of grainy. I can see why the boys were all begging for them non-stop 🤣
When you ask your favorite cheesemonger what's the best thing in the case at the moment and she tells you the is perfection - you buy the brie.

It took me a little while to make it over there, but has become one of my very favorite places for brunch in Atlanta!
While I missed out on their truly amazing sourdough on my most recent visit (they sell out, so go early!!), I still had a fantastic meal! This time I tried the B.E.L.T. on the advice of my server - it's , 2 , braised , roasted and herb on their homemade sourdough bread with a side of roasted sweet potatoes. I also got one of their lemon ricotta , because I was craving something sweet. You would never know they're , they're like little clouds!
Even if you don't have time for a meal, I'd highly recommend stopping by for the Fellows Summer Brew - it's cold brew concentrate, tonic water, blueberry, peach blossom, honey syrup served over crushed ice, it's beyond refreshing!
Who else adores Fellows??
What better day to post this than ? Last week I was invited to check out the brand new in before they opened to the public. Fun fact, I actually graduated from Chamblee High School only a few hundred feet from there! So I was really happy to support a new business in my old hood.
We got to taste a bunch of smoothies from the menu including the new seasonal smoothies the Hydration Watermelon and the Watermelon X-Treme. I'm someone who has a really hard time getting enough protein in my diet, so it's great to find a smoothie that's so light and fruity, but packs a huge punch of protein.
As my parents still live maybe 2 miles from that location, I drive past there a minimum of 4 times a week, so I've already downloaded the app and look forward to being a regular.

It's important to get good grill marks when you're cooking porkchops for your dog!
When I saw that was doing a whole hog, practically in my backyard, I knew what I was having for lunch on Saturday. I originally only ordered the hog fries, freshly fried potatoes topped with fresh chopped pig, queso, pickled carrots and radish, cucumber and cilantro, because I've been burned by bad in too many times, so I wasn't expecting much.
When I fished out my first chunk of meltingly tender pork, I knew I'd found someone who knew what they were doing, so I ordered a whole hog banh mi, as well. was also there and using meat from the hog in their offerings, so obviously I had to get a pork quesadilla loaded with their killer homemade kimchi.

Since it's , I decided I'd better jump on the bandwagon! My travels today took me by where I indulged in their brand new Thai Tea Doughnut and a Whoopie Pie, though with their wildly creative flavors it was hard to limit myself to only two! They also threw in a cup of cinnamon sugar doughnut holes for doughnut day!
Then a doctor's appointment in Cu***ng put me just up the road from , so obviously I needed to stop there as well! This time I went for Turtle Cheesecake and Salted Caramel with Biscoff Crumbs! A miniature Marble Cake was a nice doughnut day surprise!
Did you celebrate doughnut day or cheese day?? @ Dutch Monkey Doughnuts
To say that I am obsessed with Confections is probably an understatement. I have to limit myself to no more than once per week, else I'd be driving to Suwanee every day.
It's not that the entire cafe feels like walking into one giant Insta photo booth, because you know I avoid selfies like the plague, and it is definitely too chic for the likes of me! But they are never anything other than kind and patient with the middle-aged white lady who always looks like she dressed from a rag bag.
I probably would not have purchased the Cinnamonster had there been a tag on it, because paying $5.40 for glorified monkey bread, while unemployed, seems so over-the-top, but luckily there was not, so I did, and hardly even flinched when my tab was over $30 😭😭😭.
This unassuming, aggregation of dough may be one of the best things I've ever tasted. Is it a laminated dough or just a brioche bathed in so much premium European butter? I honestly don't know. That's a question for my next visit. I just know that it was still warm when I loaded it onto my plastic tray and dove into its sugary, cinnamony, buttery depths, pleasantly surprised when I found a crunchy nut lurking within.
It's almost Thursday, that means I'm allowed to go for my next visit! Who is meeting me there?
Obviously, when I saw that it was , I knew exactly where I was going to go celebrate - Seven Lamps! Because let's be real, is reliably creating the best in Atlanta, no contest.
I started with the heavenly "What's the Dill?" a drink flavored with , , and , lightened up with just a splash of brut - a stunner of a drink that will make you wish that strawberry season would never end, so you can keep enjoying this drink until the end of time 💖
Then I moved on to the all too easy to drink "Pistol Pete" a cocktail with , Mexican , , lime and Thai basil, enjoyed via a sea turtle friendly, plant-based straw.
Even though both drinks essentially count as eating a salad, because, hello, fruit! I decided to round out my night with a third salad, this one served in a bowl, not a glass 🤣 , more strawberries, golden beets, shaved fennel and celery, and pistachios - it was the kind of dinner that just makes you feel so smug about your eating habits. @ Seven Lamps
