Barbell Therapy Over time coaches become known for their little “isms”; their expressions, their brand of program design, their method and their “madness”. With my own clients I’m known for using the expression “very effective”, meaning that the exercise is subtle but it packs just the right amount of punch and in all the right places. 😉 That brings me to the clean grip reverse lunge. This movement places less stress on knees and spine while strengthening legs, glutes, upper back, and core muscles, as well as strengthening muscle imbalances and asymmetry. My own experience with chronic left side muscle weakness, dysfunction, posture imbalances and resulting pain means I do the best I can on any given day. That being said, the clean grip reverse lunge has to be one of the most “effective” movements for my body and literally relieves my left side S.I. pain (the next day)while strengthening up my entire left side, making it truly therapeutic for me and definitely one of my “go tos”. It’s not a walk in the park for me to do, but definitely worth the effort and I feel great when it’s done! 😊

Under the Heading of You Learn Something New Every Day.... My first time doing Kang Squats was a powerful experience. I felt my entire back chain light up as well as some sticky old muscle imbalances getting targeted in what felt like barbell therapy! Super addition to my workout from @walker_strength_. This one’s a keeper and a new favourite of mine!

My usual checking-in-with Lake of Bays walk after grabbing a coffee from Miss Nelles Cafe & Antiques. It’s always as if time had stood still and I’m home again. Never gets old. ❤
