Baggy harem pants paired with fringe-adorned jackets go to cut-out dresses that bare plenty of skin.

thecharlottespectator.com Those who attended Rodarte's spring collection show on Tuesday applauded loudly at the end, and rightly so. The swashbuckling pirates and grungy mermaids (or naiads) sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy sent down the runway wore looks both creatively conceived -- see the thigh-high lace-up boots, tight jeans and ruffled blouses worn by the swashbucklers -- and beautifully wrought. The "mermaid" dresses were crusted with barnacles and fish scales of lace, sequin and crystal, and layered with pieces of net and hand-embroidered and painted lace and chiffon.

thecharlottespectator.com Skingraft's spring 2015 collection was inspired by Santeria and Mexican prayer altars -- specifically, the elements of blood, smoke, earth and bone. But honestly, we were way too distracted by quite possibly the most random front row yet at New York Fashion Week. EGOT winner and "The View" host Whoopi Goldberg was snapping pics with fans, Rapper 2 Chainz was causing quite a commotion, EDM star Skrillex was holding court and a girl I'm pretty sure was Ally Hilfiger (based on my memories of MTV reality show "Rich Girls") was busy socializing.
