Eickholt for Congress
This campaign is dedicated to voicing the concerns of moderate and independent voters. Thank you for visiting our website.
Those of us who feel our government should be working to unite rather than divide us. We believe Congress should learn the art of compromise in order to get things done that will benefit the most Americans, not just the special interest groups. The 10th Congressional District, an open seat with the retirement of Frank Wolf, is going to have a huge spotlight on it in November, which gives us the pe
I just want to thank everyone who helped me with the campaign, and every one of the people who voted for me, as well as those who have sent all the kind words in the last couple of days. Those words certainly mean a lot to me and will keep me working towards my goal. Obviously the vote did not go the way we wanted, but it was definitely a learning experience. I am confident that I will run again and I truly believe our message will continue to resonate with voters. Thank you all.
Tomorrow is Election Day and whether you vote for me or any of the other candidates it is imperative that you vote. Please believe that your vote counts. I am not sure how much it means to any of the other candidates, but every single vote that I receive tomorrow will be special to me. I would like to thank everyone who helped me from those who went door-to-door to those who Liked our page, shared or liked our comments. There is a movement in this country away from the two party system, as well as more and more people working to improve our country through Campaign Finance Reform and putting an end to Gerrymandering. Whether I win tomorrow or come in last, I will continue to dedicate myself to pushing these issues forward. Thank you all!

Thank you to the Fairfax Times for highlighting the challenges that we, and all 'third-party' candidates, face trying to change the culture in our election process. I still believe we have a chance in this election. As this article points out, many people are looking beyond the two parties for solutions. BE INDEPENDENT!

I miss Senator Obama. From 2004-2008, we were going to rise above partisan politics. Alas, even someone this inspirational could not bring this change to the Democratic party. This is why we must Be Independent.

What a terrific crowd at the ADAMS Center yesterday! I really enjoyed speaking to members of the Muslim-American community, who were very receptive to our message. I appreciate the ADAMS Center message of inclusiveness and their advocacy and encouragement of their members to vote.

Barbara Comstock may have won, but the voting took place before I got to give my speech, which the attendees responded well to. We are going to keep pushing and make this a race before November 4th.

It's official, folks! My name is going to be on the ballot in November. Time to start moving this campaign into high gear. Please invite your friends to like our page so they can keep up with the latest news from the campaign.
I want to make one thing clear. This is not just a campaign for me to get into Congress. This is the beginning of a movement of people who want to Be Independent. Those who want to change the way our government works. For all of those who look at the two parties that 'run' our country and sigh with the frustration of someone who thinks it will never be fixed. I am here to say that it can be fixed, and WE can fix it, by standing together and saying, "We have had ENOUGH."

Get ready 10th District. This is the kind of campaigning we are going to be subjected to for the next 6 months. Our campaign will focus only on the issues and how we plan to solve them.
“We can’t allow her Tea Party agenda to represent us in Congress,” the Foust email said. “But, it’s up to us to help John fight back and win. Remember, Comstock is the same candidate the Washington Post just wrote a scorching editorial about – even calling her 'sycophant' to Rush Limbaugh.”
“Now is the time for all Republicans to unite and pool our resources together to defend this seat from Nancy Pelosi’s hand-picked candidate,” Comstock said in her victory statement April 26. “The election in November will be about my plans to get the economy growing again, creating jobs, and repealing and replacing Obamacare. Congress is in desperate need of problem solvers and I intend to use my common sense principles to better the lives of my constituents.”
I would like to thank Kim Eickholt for her hard work, and Stacey Leach for the idea. Kim and I spent the morning collecting signatures out in Wi******er at the Apple Blossom Festival. I wish I could have stayed there all day, as there was a great crowd that was very receptive to our common sense ideas.
I'm going to be working the crowd in Wi******er Saturday morning. Perhaps I will run into some of my Clarke County friends at the Apple Blossom Festival 5K race. I could use a couple folks to hold some clipboards for me. Please contact me if you would like to volunteer.

When you look at the chart above, it is easy to tell that anyone who tells you we can balance the budget by cutting spending, without changes to Social Security and Medicare, is being at best disingenuous and at worst they are outright lying. Also, do not believe that we can grow our way out of the problem. Cutting taxes in order to grow the economy will never make up for the lack of revenue. Every time I hear Boehner say we don't have a tax problem, we have a spending problem, I want to scream. No we have both, and cutting taxes is not going to fix either.
