Some great shooting tonight. Well done everyone. Best quote from Jack (shooting blind) was being congratulated for his shooting... His response - I think I can shoot better blind than I could seeing. Well definitely not lost his sense of humour 😂😂
Big steps forward for Jack tonight!!! He shot his first gold since losing his sight!!
The others may be slightly off target, but they're grouped nicely showing he's getting to grips with stance etc.
Well Done Jack! The whole club is proud of your cheerful determination!
**important notice** Sorry but we cannot take on any new members at this time. We will inform you when we are open to new members once rules allow. Please do not turn up as you will not be admitted.
And we are back!!!
What a great night back at the club after so long. Well done to everyone who came along and adhered to the new rules. A big thank you to Mac, Marie and Stevie for organising and setting up. Yet again I have to say...a great wee club.
So we had a wee club challenge to make a bow and arrow at home with whatever you had in and around the house. We had a good few participants and had some great ideas. From using branches from the garden, golf clubs, fishing rods, pallets, bits of wood and plastic, washing lines etc etc etc. We were entertained with photos and videos both of successful attempts and not so successful attempts.
What a wonderful bunch of folk we have in our club.
The winning prize was a fruit basket. All the participants were really winners.
We can't wait until our club opens back up and we can all get together again.
Here is our winner Mac Coxhead with his prize...
Well done all at Kilmarnock Archers.
As promised we would update you on any changes to the club status.

This is an important message from our Chair of the Club:
IMPORTANT NOTICE- Firstly we wish all our members the best of health especially in the coming weeks and months as Cornoviras takes hold.
As a club we are following guidelines in regards to club activity. As we are not a mass gathering, for the time being the club will remain open. We will keep you all informed as things progress.
In the meantime we can all do our part to slow down the spread of the virus. We ask if all members and club visitors adhere to the following -
Can every person attending the club go straight to the bathroom and wash your hands thoroughly before lifting any equipment.
- If any of you are showing symptoms please do not attend the club (we wish you a speedy recovery)
- for those of you who may be classed as vulnerable we suggest for your own safety you stay away from the club. This is a decision you need to make.
- make yourselves aware of precautions and safety guidelines.
This is a fast moving situation which may change quickly. Schools may close among other things.
We hope that our members get through this unscathed and we wish you all good health. We will update you as circumstances change.

Our Story
Our club was created by like-minded people who wanted an Archery Club with a social dimension, where everyone could feel comfortable and at ease to shoot or chat as they wished. We formed on 21st August 2017 at James Hamilton Academy in Kilmarnock at our first Club shoot. Donations from the members helped to buy the necessary equipment, together with a generous grant from Foundation Scotland, members also loaned or donated bows and arrows to us for club use. Since the beginning we have also received support from East Ayrshire Council and this year some very generous funding from Tom Grant Plant Ltd.
From the start we decided that we wanted to be an inclusive Club, to do our utmost to make the sport of Archery accessible to all and we have members from all backgrounds and walks of life. Many people have commented on the welcoming atmosphere they experience when they first come to the club.
We now have venues at Mount Carmel Primary School in Onthank and Loudoun Leisure Centre at Galston, we’ve opened a “Kids Klub” at the Boys Brigade Hall in Galston for the under 16s; in the summer season we also shoot outdoors at the Scottish Assault Course in Galston, we have come a long way in a couple of years. We cover indoor, outdoor, and all sorts of distance shooting.
Our members range from the youngest - 5 years old, to the venerable over-sixties, and older!
