Well, we are delighted that Pantone have chosen such a vibrant shade as the 'Colour of 2022'. Say hello to Very Peri, a beautiful bluey-purple.

Purple is a universal colour that everyone can wear, so this hue will be very easy to incorporate into your wardrobe.

Use Very Peri to add an injection of colour into your neutrals (think scarves, tops and accessories). You can go deeper/lighter with this hue to suit your own palette. We're also thinking weddings. Bridesmaids will look wonderful in shades of periwinkle to suit their individual colourings.

Spot the missing colour.

It's black obviously. Except it isn't missing because we don't actually make a black eye liner. You see, black can be ageing, it has the knack of picking out and highlighting those fine lines, as well as looking heavy on the eyes.

So instead, CMB have developed eight far more flattering shades. But don't worry, they're not a throwback to the 80s. We think you will be surprised how subtle a coloured eye liner is. Certainly my clients are bowled over when they try them.

I usually avoid yellow, as I know I'm a cool and need blue-based tones to avoid looking sallow & peaky! However, I do now own a jumpsuit which is mainly blue, with pink flowers & some yellow and it suits me: here's why!!

Urgh! It's that time of year when our skin can start to look dull and grey. Dig deep into your make-up bag and find that discarded highlighter. A quick sweep across the cheek bone after you have applied blusher is a great way to disguise a dull complexion.

I do love a bit of teal!

Teal is quite an incredible colour. It's one that we can all wear and is extremely versatile (you could treat it as a neutral).

If you have a light and delicate look (blonde hair and light eyes), look for a lighter shade of teal and wear it with pastel pink or mint. However if you have a much more dramatic look (dark hair, dark eyes) opt for a darker teal and wear with chocolate or damson.

If you have golden or red toned hair and a warm skin tone, try it with coral or lime. If however you have grey hair and a pink or sallow skin tone, add contrast with shades such as baby pink or icy blue.

If your eyes are your most dominant feature and your hair is dark, choose a teal fabric that reflects the light and team it with light grey or dark navy. But if you have a more blended look (there is very little difference in the colour of your hair, eyes and skin) then wear your teal tonally with pewter or soft violet.

I'm really struggling as a cool at the moment because it's been mainly autumnal shades in shops for the last year or so!

Warm palettes come in to their own this season. Oranges, golden browns, olive greens and ochre yellows are fabulous colours that look amazing on warm skin tones.

Flip of the coin and Cools may have to work a little harder to find their 'colours'. But berry reds, purples, grey, navy and shocking pink are all great for cool skin tones. Even green as long as it's a blue-green!

Your first pit-stop should always be your wardrobe. Have a look through to find out what you feel good in, and what needs replacing. Make a list of 'gaps' in your wardrobe (keep the list on your phone so that when you're out shopping, it's a quick reference).
