Well, Happy New Year folks, its 2019, and we hope you are all out of the weird "what day is it?", "is there any cheese or cake left?" mode, and back in the groove.

The café reopens tomorrow (Saturday 5th) and Sunday 9-4, we have some new coffee types for the new year, including pour over (see the pic), freshly made carrot and tarragon soup, and a welcome return of the Victoria Sponge (in cupcake form, hopefully).

Hot rolls, grilled cheese, and the public launch of our new MB Blackamolé - black pudding, avocado and a cheeky wee tickle of hot sauce (it's a superfood you know), Best on a panini, but you can have it on whatever you want, (flip flops not accepted).

Get on this people, some fine music, and all in aid of our "next door" neighbours at the café. Bikes for Refugees do EXACTLY what they say, they take in and rehome bikes for refugees, or New Scots as I think of them.

Ive seen many happy, smiley faces on kids, adults and seniors as they get their bikes fine-tuned by the guys. They do a great job. Help them out.

Some quality chanters on the night, including Dean Owens and only £10 - £20 A tkt. Got to be worth it.

We have used up all of the old stock of cups, and now can move onto the Vegware double walled cups, fully compostible, made from plants, and setup and still based in Edinburgh. We have used these cups before, and are super delighted we get to do so again.

A bit dreich today, we got soup on (coyntty Vegetable, grab a cup and a grilled cheese for£5.00 here till its gone (im guessing around 2pm).

FRESHLY baked cookies, Coffees, Teas the whole shebang.

Three layers of Victoria Sponge filled with butter cream and Jam, no messing about - just everything good about cake.

There's only one, and we have already had requests to "keep me a bit", (someone even paid upfront for a bit). I reckon 12 slices for sale, or 11 now.

There's also hot soup since it looks a wee bit dreich today, lightly spiced lentil and butterbean.

How are you all doing? I told you we'd be up to some adventures as this mad journey continues.

Well, here's the first of them, we are taking over the café Bridge 8 Hub and Paddle Cafe until the end of summer, and have been testing and tweaking what we offer you.

The Paddle Café is part of the adventure / activity centre slowly emerging from the old "boathouse" area off of Calder Crescent, on the way to Ratho, Falkirk and on through to Glasgow. (click on the link above for Google map assistance.

We officially "go live" on 16th June, where we will be offering a select number of items, coffee, bacon, egg, sliced sausage rolls, and for those not watching their calories, the "MB Triple Threat" grilled cheese sandwich.

Concentrating on quality over quantity, the Hub is totally "off grid", so represents a challenge to give a quality café experience, but we think we have it planned out.

Its the home of the " MB Triple Threat" grilled cheese - yup as epic as it sounds, old school batch loaf, three cheeses (Mature cheddar, Mozzarella and Parmesan) lovingly and gently nutured into one awesome grilled sandwich.

It can even have oak and dry cured and smoked bacon or (and?) pepperoni on it, its awesome.

So, come down and say hi, dig that old bike out, work for, (or work off) your brunch along the splendid Union Canal.

Buy a coffee and any roll to qualify for a free bike hire!

More news incoming this week, come help us iron out any problems and make it a "go to" place, for a weekend chill and get to "mess around" on kayaks, canoes, mini tanks or just sit and watch the world go by, wired out of your box on fine, gooey, cheesy awesomeness and great coffee.

Well hello people,

Long time no type, we are back!!!!

We have taken some time out to do a bit of thinking and restructuring of the whole MB adventure, it's been a tough few months, but we are nearly out of the woods and back on the path to all things fun and coffee filled.

We have been refining and planning a new sales and marketing process for Mitchell Blend, and specifically the MB Bag, which we know you all love..

TGO Magazine that's who, one of the UK's most popular Active lifestyle magazines, so if you go rambling, walking, climbing, camping or adventure type stuff, you may already know it.

They gave it a 4.5 (out of 5) star review, we always try to excel, but nothing should ever be perfect, there is always improvements that can be done.
