Come Holy Spirit
A few days ago, my wife and I got caught up in a really intense time of worship. At some point, it felt like I was pushing through a silken somewhat elastic and transparent curtain. I found myself on the other side and saw a choir singing this song!
Some day soon, I hope to have a few hundred singers join me on a field to capture the visuals of this song.
For now, here is the lyric video of OBA OGO (King of Glory).
A couple of weeks ago, at about 2am, I noticed that this chant had been on repeat in my mind for a while. As it continued, I began to sense the presence of angels and to hear conversations. There was a generally joyous mood across the conversations and I heard these words spoken as if with pleasure: THIS IS ONE OF THE CHANTS WE GO TO WAR WITH!
Well, it's time to pray, praise, and win. I hope this lyric video helps.
This simple chant is in Yoruba and the English interpretations are:
Glory to God! Glory to God!
Glory to God in the Highest
Glory to God! Glory to God!
Glory to God Hallelujah
Glory to Jesus! Glory to Jesus!
Glory to Jesus Hallelujah...
Glory to the Spirit!
Glory Holy Spirit!
Glory to the Spirit Hallelujah...
The last line and melody of the chant borrows heavily from F***y Crosby's triumphant hymn Glory to God Hallelujah. There are very slight differences in the melody at that point.
Someday soon I hope, we will gather and release this chant in a worship and prayer meeting and trigger some movements in the spirit
