Practical WDW
Veteran Florida theme park travelers make your next Disney World vacation fun and easy
Here's our first in a series of videos looking back at last month's , an event celebrating hosted by the Lake Buena Vista Historical Society and and RetroWDW podcast.
Take a look at our Top Ten Moments from that event - https://youtu.be/2uV4x6yaoAE
Not flying today, but heading home by car, so no photos during the drive, but hope you've enjoyed some scenes from the park this past week, and I have more to share when I get home!
Still lots more to share from , including a surprise appearance from a star of Disney's Model Shop, Imagineer Harriet Burns. Harriet passed away years ago, but a former colleage, Jim Sarno, spoke about the work she left behind and showed examples of some of the playful antics from the Model Shop
An almost lovely few across World Showcase Lagoon last night, unless you love large barges, in which case it would be completely delightful
Finally made it around to see all of the Flower and Garden Festival topiary today, so there should be a bunch more flowery photos to share in the weeks to come
Where else but could you get this close to leaves Walt Disney brought back from Europe (saved by Imagineer Jim Sarno)
This dragon topiary seems to fit in well on the shores of World Showcase Lagoon.
Still have a lot of RetroMagic photos to share, but haven't forgotten about Epcot's Flower and Garden Festival
Took a quick look in Epcot's new quick service restaurant, Connections Cafe. Looks like relatively ordinary theme park food (burgers and chicken), so probably geared toward the less adventurous eaters visiting Epcot.
Sorry to see the end of , but another great event from the / folks and I'll have plenty more to share in the days to come
Dave Vermeulen entertained the audience with his long an varied career with the Walt Disney Company, including a time as Director of Nothing
Wait times seem to keep getting longer for the Jungle Cruise in Disney World and I have a sinking feeling that's gonna continue for a while
The shortened show isn't as spectacular as it used to be, but still happy to see what remains of the Festival of the Lion King
If you have the time to explore the entrance area in Animal Kingdom, it really is an oasis. No headliner attractions, but a pleasant diversion from a hectic theme park day
Winged Encounters is always one of the highlights of a visit to Disney's Animal Kingdom
Hope these little character moments continue as the more formal photo ops return to the parks. I hadn't seen this one before
Some sign of the future dining coming to Toy Story Land
A side benefit to riding Flight of Passage at park closing is the chance to spend some time in a relative uncrowded Pandora when it looks best, in the dark
A look inside the lab on Pandora
They may not look all that showy, but unless Disney has been lying to me for years I can assure you this was, indeed, a flamboyance
It's a shame Disney gave up on Rivers of Light, because the lack of an evening extravaganza sends a lot of people home before the park looks and feels its best
Animal Kingdom in the evening is usually a good way to end the day
If you're trying to capture all the standard World Showcase photos and all of the Flower and Garden topiary, then you'll be happy to know you can catch two of those things in the same shot at the China pavilion
D***y has a more prominent spot next to Snow Whie, but the rest of the dwarfs are at the Flower and Garden Festival, too
Happy to see this d***y guy in topiary form last night
A more traditional German character than Kermit and Ms. Piggy
The Muppets have made their way to Germany, for some reason
Epcot's Italy pavilion always has plenty of flowers
Familiar Flower and Garden favorites featured in a prominent location in the middle of the Italy pavilion this year
Happy to join Epcot's miniature Germans in celebrating the Flower and Garden Festival this year
