So some of you know I've been into Blockchain for years now. I've experimented with several decentralized platforms like Musicoin and the Hive ecosystem. The landscape is constantly shifting, and I find it all a bit wild and exciting. There's also a great community forming around Web3 tech. Decentralization is the future. It has to be if we ever want to break our chains. But I digress...
I got my first NFT collector the other day, and I want to give a big shout-out & thank you to Josh for requesting a mint of my "Of Myth & Men" cover portrait for a noire collection he's building. Pretty awesome for me to know this piece is forever imprinted on the Blockchain. Even cooler to know it was done specifically for someone who really wanted it. I've got some other NFT surprises as well, but... One post at a time here!

It's been a long time since I've spent a Summer down south and woo 🌞 it's hot. Not complaining. A huge heartfelt thanks to all who have listened to and supported my new music. Means a lot to me. If you haven't had the chance, it's early yet, no sweat! What a year it has been already... I miss my so much (shed a little tear just this morning,) and I wish my pal .najafi could see how well "Little Things" is being received. Five radio plays that I'm aware of in just five days. He would get a kick out of that I'm sure. I love all you folks who check in, cheer me on, and make me laugh. You know who you are. Thank you. Little Things” is the expression of zooming out. All the problems, all the pleasures— Every bit of it all seems so colossal when you're in the thick of it. But zoom out, and you get perspective. That’s not to say that life is insignificant, but rather that it’s precious. Existence should be protected at all costs.
It's an elaboration on "Only Dance" both musically and lyrically, and there's a reference to the Divine here as well. Nikola Tesla said, "If you only knew the magnificence of the 3, 6, and 9, then you would have a key to the universe."
There is a reason the Trinity has been observed across multiple faiths throughout history. All is manifest in three through the combination of positive and negative which brings about something entirely new and of itself. This is the essence of creation.

I’m fascinated by the fact that history lives in perpetual motion between Dark Age and Enlightenment... Over and over, back and forth. It's the same pattern we see throughout the universe— In sleeping and waking, in darkness and light, in life and death. There is a rhythm to everything.
In a sea of those going along with the motions and desperately trying not to make waves, it only takes one action to shake things up and set off a turn of events. The catalyst is a determining part of the cycle. This is an ode to that catalyst, that one little wave.
The music aims to elucidate all of the above, from the shifting of meter back and forth between 4/4 and 6/8 to the rising and falling waves of vocalizations as we come gently crashing to the end of the song. May we all live to see a Renaissance. Soon.

"The Only Dance There Is" is named after a book of the same name by Ram Dass. It's about the dance of life and death. Saṃsāra. Endless cycles. Giving yourself to the Divine to take the lead. I wanted it to have a sort of "heave-ho" sound, because despite the notion of simply letting go, there is work involved in the process of distilling our selves from the tangled webs we weave. It's a process that spans generations. Despite lyrical simplicity, the tune is paradoxically deep. Hope you appreciate it. 🙏

I have good news and very bad news. This happened all at once, so I am asking for grace as I disclose it all at once. My 3-song EP, "Little Things" is out June 10th, and presales are coming very soon. I can't wait to share this little body of work with you. I want to thank producer for another job well done and his impeccable patience with me. He is always awesome. Once again, I couldn't have done it without him. And I'll have to thank .najafi through the stars for his amazing work mastering this EP, because I was informed that we lost him a few days ago. My heart is heavy, and I'm still processing. Rez was a good friend, a gentle soul, and the most humble genius. He will be dearly missed by friends and family alike. There is nothing I can say or do to make it right, but I hope that "Little Things" will serve as one small token of his remembrance. I believe it was likely the last project he saw to completion, as we wrapped it up just about two weeks ago. We are all in absolute shock. . . Godspeed, Reflected Illusions. See you on the other side. 🙏💔

I have new music coming soon, friends! I can't wait to share it. 😅 "Little Things" is a 3-song EP that explores divinity and the cyclical nature of reality, from reincarnation to revolution. It's quirky and unique, heavily vocal, and I really couldn't even begin to place a genre on it. I haven't chosen a release date yet, but that will come next. Stay tuned!

My sweet Angelina crossed over this morning. 💔 She was the most amazing dog I have ever known. She had the kindest heart. There was not one mean bone in her body. At the same time, her strength of will was fierce— To eat, to live, to do whatever she wanted with independence and grace... All the way to her last breath. In her way of being, she was an inspiration to me. She was my best friend for the past 17 years, and I am heartbroken. It will take a long time to get used to this emptiness and the absence of her big little presence that was always by my side. I may never get used to it. Rest in Peace, Little Angel.

Pleased with this lovely custom sigil I just completed for a client. She wanted it based on 1 Corinthians 16:14, "Let everything you do be done in love." What a wonderful affirmation, something to live by.
The flower at the center is a heart chakra within four rotated 🖤's. Love in all directions. The straight lines make up the alchemical symbol for copper, which signifies Venus, both the planet and the goddess of love. Above and below we have decorative crecent moons, representative of femininity, awareness and intuition. On either side, the Triquetra, or "Celtic Love Knot," is actually an ancient symbol of many origins and meanings having to do with the Trinity and threefoldism, as well as unity and infinity. Beyond that, the affirmation is represented physically in the design, though that's more subtle. By encircling this, we've added an element of protection, and it reminds me of a compass, which I think is fitting.

Who wants to learn some music!? I am currently offering lessons online! Most of you know of my enthusiasm for making music, but few of you may know that teaching music is also a passion of mine. I've been teaching for over ten years, and I absolutely love it. Since the Covid crisis began over a year ago, I have gained a lot of experience teaching online lessons. Some students chose to hold off until we can be back in-studio, and I get that. It's tough on the 3 to 4-year-olds, for example. The good news is that it works great for most, plus it's in the comfort of your own home. My students who have stuck with it have learned at the same rate as in-person, and they've quite enjoyed it! With that said, I'm looking to expand my business, and I have several openings. If you or someone you know age 5+ is interested in learning piano, music theory, and/or singing, DM me for info! I woke up to a wonderful surprise today. A photo of one of my original sigils tattooed on a perfect stranger's arm. ❤️😭 She said it was to help with her severe anxiety and that it prevented her from self-harm. I can't even express how humbled I am. My gratitude to the Universe which connects us all in the most mysterious ways. May she always be reminded that she is most definitely worthy of good things. 🙏💫

May it all be yours. To me, wealth doesn't necessarily equate with financial gain. Wealth can be of the heart and the spirit. To have an abundance of love, gratitude, comfort. To have the things we need to live a prosperous life— Friends, family, food in our bellies, blankets on our beds. What does wealth mean to you?
