This was the first in the series that I completed. I kinda like the texture on the skin, I might use that in different applications in the future.

I am so happy that I got to use these colors together on a project. They please me, very much.

This is a memorial piece I made for a close friend who lost her beautiful boy at 40 weeks. There's really nothing you can say or do to ease that pain though I hope this helped just a little. There was only one black and photo to work with, I tried my best.

This week I'll be sharing some pieces that I've done that aren't connected to my current work; like this telephone booth with faux stained glass I made while living in Korea in 2012.

While I was abroad that I decided that I would love to settle somewhere and return to glass one day and really make a good go at it. Korea (and the places that followed) were the cradle for my current aspirations. I still feel like my goal of having "made it" and in the distance but meh, It's a journey and I'm proud to be taking the long, scenic route.

This piece was made out of colored acetate and construction paper and was inspired by the crafts that the children were making in the elementary school that I taught at. I had always wanted to attack a phone booth with this type of planned out street art so I toiled away after my classes and made these panels. It took 4 months

An experiment in color and opacity, I wanted to see what mixing flesh tones into this series would look like. I'm pretty happy with the results but I'd like to take it in a different direction next time. I've attached images of the process.

9.5" x 9.5". This piece will be in the American Glass Now exhibition this summer, something I'm very proud to say. The exhibition is being put on by the Grand Rapids Art Museum in collaboration with thr American Glass Guild. It will be on display to the public for 14 weeks and I just found out they're going to use it in their promo for the show!

This series has been a fun study in color and portraiture and I look forward to upscaling them one day. I'm learning what works and what doesn't so in that sense these have been useful exercises.

This is an exciting turning point: it feels like stuff is actually starting to happen this year. For the first time I actually see a clear vision of where I want to be and I believe it may be possible to get there. I've been blessed to have support from friends and ive got solid ideas for a few meaty series of works that could keep me busy for years. This new branding represents a turn in the right direction.

Thank you all for following my work, I know this is just a big dumb social media site but I've been able to make some really good connections here and I love that we can all talk to each other freely. I appreciate any and all feedback I've received from you. Thank you.

What do I see from here?
- A lofty space in an industrial studio (with windows that don't face a wall would be a nice change!)
- Ambitious artworks that are displayed in galleries and sold as stand alone artworks.
- Collaborations with other artists I admire
- A large communal table where I can offer courses.
- Prints.
- Maybe an apprentice to help me grow even further.

Let's go. I want to push the boundaries of this medium and make people say "holy f**k that's the coolest stained glass I've ever seen" lol that's pretty much my mission statement.

Here is a shot of the hair details on this piece. The background was a happy accident that I pushed further: Windex splatter!

Solderingwas very rewarding. After the painting process the pieces are carefully washed and wrapped in a thin copper foil. The foil is then soldered together, creating a lead line.
The windows were joined together with a custom hardwood frame by a master carpenter here in Montreal.

This piece was a commission; an anniversary gift. It was an absolute pleasure to create it for such a lovely occasion.
18" x 18", hand painted kiln fired stained glass. The skull alone was 7 layers of paint, 7 trips to the kiln.

What better way to honour someone than with a custom stained glass portrait? Living or passed, I would be touched to be part of helping memorialize someone very, very loved. Pets too!

Here's a little Catwoman to pair with the new Batman movie!

Why Stained Glass?

Because stained glass is historic, colourful and precious. My intention is to push the boundaries of the medium and show that stained glass is very much alive in 2020.

I have been working with glass since 2001 where I started out making Christmas ornaments year-round for a local studio like an elf in Santa’s Workshop, a position I held for 6 years. This wonderful experience allowed me to afford to pay for my tuition to high school, college and university. After taking a hiatus to focus on my studies and later travel I’ve returned to stained glass once again to explore new directions and see what I can do.

My painting and sculpture practice have given me skills that I am always eager to apply to my stained glass panels. Stained glass feels like a happy marriage of all my creative worlds.
