/// PISGAH MAGIC ///
I painted this as part of my art challenge for dear . She was planning a trip back to our home in North Carolina, and unfortunately her plans were cancelled. I know so many people that have had to cancel honeymoons, vacations, work trips, birthday parties, baby showers, and so many other countless things in their lives. I know that we will all be able to enjoy these things again, but that doesn't mean we can't grieve them now. It is hard not seeing your loved ones and your favorite places you hold dear. It is lonely but we are all in this together.
I have decided to take it slow with my "art challenge". The whole purpose is to give back with my art to those less fortunate, and I can still achieve this without breaking my creative flow into such a timeframe. I am back to my full time job now, and I appreciate working that 9-5 more than ever. I don't know how to express with words what I feel for everyone that has lost their job, been laid off, on unpaid leave, on reduced hours, or all the other countless things you might be going through right now. I want to be able to show my love, gratitude, and art to be able to help.We are in this together.
To everyone that has participated in my challenge with sending me photos, thank you. You are helping people. I have been donating the proceeds that have been generously offered to a charity that is helping feed families out of work right now. We are in this together. .

/// MAMA GREEN ///
Challenge 4
A view of Mama Green in her golden light from Fishtop. This is one of favorites places. I feel her words for Mama Green are beautiful and capture what this place means to her. "A place where I can always find myself again when I feel lost. Where I learned to kayak, first place I ever did a “long hike” way before I ever knew what the outdoor life was like, or before living in Saluda, and before I knew how nature and this Gorge could heal (me and my pups)💙 Grateful to be a river keeper of this great resource and thankful to have it in my backyard."
Thank you Erica!

/// Stay Home ///
As I sit here at home, I can't help but let my mind wander off to beautiful places. Places that inspire me, take my breath away, and remind me how small we all really are. Those are the important places to me. So, I want to take this next bit of quarantine and spend it purposefully. I would like to extend my art you.
This is how it works. Send me a quality photo of your favorite place you love. The important place you hold dear. It can be a home, mountain, valley, river, backyard, city street. I will sketch or paint it for you based on how I interpret it. All I ask is you cover shipping and repost it in your feed and stories. If you choose that you would like to pay me, I will donate all proceeds to a local organization helping a family in need at this time. I will choose one photo per day until I am able to go back to my day job. That's it! Send me a photo, stay home, and wash your hands💚

/// CRESTED BUTTE ///
I know I have been MIA. Sorry about that y'all, but to be honest I needed a little break from insta and the overwhelming feeling it gives me to try and keep up. I spent the last few weeks instead skiing in Colorado, going to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, and then back to skiing in Colorado. I know what a life!? I will be the first to admit I am lucky and for the lack of a better term "blessed". I got to ski at six different mountains and walk around the streets of NOLA with my husband and some of the best friends I could ask for.
This painting here was a gift for a couple that are super important to me. Lauren and Jimmy are not only kind, thoughtful, great listeners, but they are so gracious. They welcomed us into their home for a week, and showed us around ski mountains, their town, and even had a kitten for us to snuggle.
This painting is the backdrop of the mountain they got married on in Crested Butte, CO this past summer. It was one of the most beautiful wedding events I have ever been to, and they put so much thought into the details. Details are something I love as an artist!
I write this to say I'm so thankful for my husband .inlo , my friends and Eric! You guys made these past few weeks the best!
Much love and gratitude!
-Becca

/// BLUE RIDGE BROOK ///
This was a special one for me. My sweet friend asked me to paint something for her Dad's birthday. Joe is a talented man and a artist. He makes beautiful things from wood. He made me a bowl last year and I honestly take it everywhere with me. It is in our camper on all of our travels and after I make a pair of earrings I like to put them in it. I put them in there to look at them contrasting and dancing off of the beautiful wooden surroundings. I do this not only for the fact that it is beautiful, but I feel that it represents a gift from the heart. This is similar to the feeling I have with my art and earrings. It's not just a bowl, it is a thoughtful handmade work of art from someone I think so much of. Joe does a lot for land conservation and the beautiful places I call home. So, thank you Joe. I hope this brings you happiness everytime you look at it, like my bowl does ❤️.

/// WESTSLOPE CUTTHROAT ///
Westslope Cutties have been on my list for a while now, and I like the way this first round came out. I plan on refining it a little more, but I'm digging it for now.
The Westslope Cutthroat Trout is Montana's state fish. They are named for the red slashes near their lower jaws. Their historical range was all of Montana west of the Continental Divide as well as the upper Missouri River drainage. This species has been heavily reduced in its range both hybridization with Rainbow and/or Yellowstone Cutthroat Trout, and habitat loss and degradation.
This is listed as a species of special concern in Montana.
I have seen a few of these beautiful fish in person, and have hopes of seeing more on the river. Proper management practices and increased public knowledge and concern will only further the future of this species. If you would like to help in preserving this species, please consider reaching out and donating to organizations such as
