Hey Fb fam! It's been a minute.

There's been a LOT going on in my world. But today, I had a thought... sometimes the best thing you can do is focus on serving others and that puts all things in perspective. :-) You feel me?

Well, as you know, I am passionate about helping folk get healthy, particularly those who've been told they are pre-diabetic or are Type 2.

So, I have a question for you....

Nutrition Nugget #4: Consistency is KEY. Did you know that even if your blood sugar is higher than ideally desired, it's better overall if it is CONSISTENTLY higher than if it is all over the place?

It's true. Over time, more internal havoc is wreaked when you keep experiencing lows and highs, so be sure to know the signs.

Make it a point to eat more fiber as it takes longer to convert to sugar in your blood.

Fruits like berries are not only low in sugar, but they are jam packed full of antioxidants which are so good, on so many levels for your body!

Even in the midst of sorrow, we can find a reason for joy. We just have to look for it.

I didn’t plan to spend my birthday attending a funeral, but I found a beautiful beach to bask in God’s goodness and appreciate His handiwork.

I’m so thankful for another year of life!

Did you know that what's going on in your gut has a direct impact on your body's ability to regulate your blood sugar and sooo much more?

That is FASCINATING to me!!

Good and "bad" bacteria reside in your gut and if they are out of balance, issues arise. Issues like bloating, gas, indigestion, and even weight gain!

Sooo, what's a body to DO?

Eat yogurt - the organic, plain, Greek, full fat kind... (yep, full fat). 🙂
Or try Kombucha or sauerkraut.
What about buttermilk (yep, organic)?
Maybe even supplement with a good probiotic.

Balance the gut. Balance the life. 🙂

Meet Jan Toles – our June Practitioner of the Month!

If we were to describe Jan, the qualities that shine forth are joyfulness and kindness. She is someone who comes across as a good person not just the first time you talk with her, but every time. Even over email, even when she is speaking to our customer service staff instead of us, her kind, joy-exuding spirit prevails.

Jan is an Industrial Engineer turned Certified Health Coach and Integrative Nutritionist who experienced first-hand that changing what she ate, thought, and believed transformed her health and now she is on a mission to help others to transform their health too.

She serves the pre-diabetic and diabetic population with her 12-week course, A1C Mastery Plan, that empowers people to normalize their blood sugar levels, listen to their body, and eat to live.

She has even written a book! (Where do you find the time, Jan 😊)

Her fundamental belief, that we are tri-part beings – body, mind, and spirit – guides her in addressing the whole person, not just the condition.

She attributes any success she has achieved to God’s grace and her ‘bulldog tenacity’ to find answers. She shares solid advice about stumbles, “Failures come when I forget that I'm just as much of a tool in His hands as the eating plans I create are in mine.”

Though we've known Jan for a few years now, we have had the privilege of better getting to know her most recently through our clinical mentorship – The Master Program. She recently presented a case in this group and her clinical skills were spot on!

She believes the greatest thing any practitioner can do is commit to lifelong learning. She shares, “Surround yourself with colleagues and mentors who will challenge you to grow and keep you on your toes. That's what the Master Program Mentorship and PracticeUp do for me and so many others!”

WHAT AN AMAAZING FEELING....

Lately, I've been "head down" engulfed in serving my 'beta group' and improving the A1c Mastery Plan.

I am pleased to tell you that so far, the Plan has been going well. My active “betas” [as I lovingly refer to them] have given me a LOT of great feedback! They've experienced improved sleep, unanticipated, but consistent weight loss, lowered A1c, reduced fasting blood sugar numbers, reduced blood pressure, steady reduction in meds – and that’s just the tip of the iceberg!! Say whaaat??!! 😊

I am humbled that, after many years of thinking about creating something like this, I was able to get it done. I’m forever grateful to my coach who guided me along the path of getting my thinking into doing.

Now, I’m ready to share this program with the next wave of people who would like to get their health under control.
