We have been made aware that a member of the Overland staff at the finish has tested positive for COVID 19 on Monday 28th March. Should you display symptoms of COVID 19 we would advise you to undertake a Lateral Flow test and follow current NHS advice accordingly.

Congratulations to all the teams that completed the Overland Hike this weekend. It doesn't matter if you came in the top 3 or were a bit further down the field. You all 'did your best' in the true spirit of Scouting!

The first teams are settling in to the campsite and cooking their evening meals with a beautiful sunset.

A day of dot watching. Each team carry a GPS tracker that we hire from Open Tracking. This allows us to monitor the team's location at all times.

An amazing day to be out on top of the South Downs in West Sussex today.

It's a beautiful day for the Overland Hike. The first teams are now out on the Downs.

There will be a tuck shop selling various items at the halfway checkpoints on both Saturday and Sunday. Don't forget to bring a small amount of money along.

Hot and cold drinks will be available free of charge.

In the final 2 weeks before the hike we often get teams withdraw because one member becomes sick or injured. If this happens with your team then please contact us as there are individual Scouts and Explorers who may be able to join your team thus allowing the young people to take part.

The wait is nearly over, final instructions are now on their way to the 46 teams who will be competing in the 2022 Overland Hike.

3rd Hastings have one scout who would really like to do the hike. If you are in need of a scout due to someone needing to pull out then please get in touch with the organisers.

With 2 weeks to go until the Overland Hike alot of teams run a 2 day practice this weekend. What have you got planned for your teams?

Are your Scouts and Explorers walking on their own and meeting you at checkpoints or do they still need a bit of help with navigation?

Not only the title of an iconic 80s track by Paul Hardcastle ( showing my age here!) but also the number of teams entered so far. 51 spaces left!

Another day on the Downs of Sussex for the Overland Hike organisers ( with guest). It was a bit misty to start with but we soon were enjoying the sunshine.

Bird identification is a favourite checkpoint on the Overland Hike. The organising team were out hiking on the South Downs today and spotted this bird. Can you identify it?
