Martin Ryan officially opened the doors of the original Ryan’s Irish Pub in November 1996. Ryan’s was situated in Osu, Accra.
Martin found the perfect site and it soon became part of the hub of activity surrounding the Oxford Street nightlife in Osu. With the collapse of the mining industry in Ghana in 1997, Ryan’s lost half of it’s core client base. In 1998, Ryan’s took over the famous friday night mining drinks and as they say, from there the rest is history! Ryan’s Irish Pub became a household name in the expat world
where old friend’s met, new friends were made and many a fun evening was had by all – almost always with a pint in hand & a Gourmet Burger to devour! Martin sold Ryan’s in March 2007. We are excited to bring a little piece of this incredible history back to Accra & look forward to many happy memories being made in the new Irish Pub in East Legon. Join us for a cold Ale, Irish music, sports on our big screen TV, delicious food or just to catch up with old friends! We have a fine range of imported wines from South Africa, Chile, Argentina, Australia & the USA We even stock imported Irish Beers like Kilkenny & the real Guinness!
