Salvum Sonus was founded in 2013, with a goal in mind to improve the safety and efficiency of human powered transportation. As scientists scramble to find and harness renewable resources, it is important to try and reduce the use of limited resources. With transportation being one of the biggest sectors of energy use, Salvum Sonus has realized the need for growth in the field of human powered tran
sportation. By making human powered transportation safer, more efficient, and therefore more appealing, Salvum Sonus hopes to attract more people to a more environmentally-friendly, as well as healthier, way of transportation. With many members of Salvum Sonus being athletes themselves (both recreational and competitive), it was easy to see a glaring problem for runners. Many runners listen to music while running, but this makes them unaware of their surroundings and therefore vulnerable to any oncoming vehicles. Salvum Sonus aims to not only make it safer for current runners to run with music, but also to attract more people to run, for being able to listen to music safely makes running much more appealing. Salvum Sonus’ debut product on the market is the SonusGuard. This product is aimed to allow runners to listen to music while running, without having to worry about being unaware of their surroundings. Consisting of both an accessory and an app, the SonusGuard will lower the runner’s music when its sensor detects a vehicle or other moving object coming towards the runner. Therefore, the runner will be alerted of oncoming objects, as well as be given the ability to hear their surroundings. Salvum Sonus hopes to delve further into the market of athletic technology. The safety of athletes is important to Salvum Sonus; we look forward to serving these athletes and providing them with what they need.
