In Alabama (my familyâs home state) with the OG (Ole Guy) and the workers at the Amazon factory In Bessemer Alabama. I am with the WORKER. The worlds richest man and fastest growing company must improve these workers conditions and make this right. As Amazon customers our use of this company drives this companyâs growth. Letâs make sure the companyâs dollars are growing does not rob the worker of their dignity. 12 hr work with only a 30 min paid break to eat, use the lavatory and hopefully make it back to your station that cud be very Far in a huge warehouse or risk being written up and job lose. People getting paid weeks late, No AC, No real leadership on the factory đ floor to help structure a system that helps workers better do a job getting the public their orders. This is evil and if the workers unite we should support them. Union NOW! *tBruh

When you study the health, the economics, the politics...the owners....man...the NFL is really bad for America.
-Approximately 22% of it's players are going to have long term cognitive issues.
-Most of the owners are not very progressive.
-They don't give minority coaches a fair shot.
-They drain local cities of taxes and resources by threatening to move to the next locality if they don't pay up.
I just post this to make people think. If you are "woke" maybe you shouldn't be supporting them.
It's not just a Kaepernick issue. The NFL has layers of problems.

It Hurts to See Nipsey Hussleâs Life Not Mattering After a celebrated rapper is murdered, some admirers turn to wild theories, because the reality is too hard to face.
You always hear the clicheâ phrase, âthatâs just for the movies, thatâs not how things work in real life.â Well...I was waiting for someone to yell âcutâ as I walked into a civil court hearing âȘon Friday MorningâŹ, November 30th, 2018. What I was witnessing could have been written by John Grisham himself, if it hadnât been previously covered at earlier stages of his career.
Like the first act in Grishamâs Rainmaker novel, the onset of this actual legal drama looked both dreary and daunting. Over a dozen polished and powerful attorneys stood on one side of the courtroom. Seated across from them was a lone country counselor with his solitary client, a widow by the name of Edith Curry Broadhead. The judge politely thanked everyone for coming, banged his gavel and went into recess. As the judge walked out, several attorneys lined up to shake hands with Richard Knapp, Mrs. Broadheadâs counsel. Handshakes were firm yet polite. Their eyes spoke more truth than the proffered pleasantries. The body language looked more like the beginning of a martial arts contest.
As all the parties shuffled out of the courtroom, I introduced myself to the plaintiff and her counsel. Befuddled by a sheriff deputy who insisted on confiscating my cell phone battery because it âlooked too much like a prohibited cell phone,â I had missed much of the legal wrangling. So I bluntly asked Mr. Knapp, âWhat just happened in there?â
âThey have moved our case to Caroline County!â replied Mr. Knapp.
Several months ago, a lawsuit was filed by Knapp on behalf of Edith Curry Broadhead in Richmond City Circuit Court alleging that the Virginia Department of Transportation, several large Caroline County farms and a Caroline County official colluded to pollute her property. (The property is located in the southern portion of the county entitled the Reedy Mill Tract.)
The list of defendants sounds like a lesson in Caroline County geography and history. There are roads named after some of the legacy estates who are being sued. In short, the defendants are very prominent in Caroline. For that reason, I asked the bow-tied barrister, who eerily looked like Donald Sutherland in A Time To Kill, âDo you think you can get a fair trial in Caroline?â As an officer of the court, Mr. Knapp seemed to have a relentless faith in the judicial process. He conceded though that the venue was a concern which was one of several reasons why they had filed in Richmond City Circuit Court.
Mr. Knapp and Mrs. Broadhead went on to share several other startling case facts and allegations that will not be immediately published by this news medium. More information will follow after all parties are contacted and given a chance to respond.
There was one point Mr. Knapp, and Mrs. Broadhead restated over and over again that does not require further investigation or corroboration. Both lawyer and client were adamant that âThey are not against farming nor are they attempting to stop the farmers from pursuing their vocation.â (Allegedly one of the defense counsels made that claim during the hearing or in their pleadings.) Knapp and Broadhead insisted that the problem is with the practices of these particular farms and VDOT which allegedly created the harm and subsequent litigation. Mr. Knapp closed our conversation with a proclamation, âThe people of Caroline County have no greater ally than Edith Curry Broadhead!â
Hopefully, this case wonât unravel like a Grisham novel. Those legal fictions are made up of clear-cut heroes and villains. Real life typically doesnât have those absolute distinctions. Laws are typically broken or bent on both sides in those novels for justice to prevail. Innocent people are sacrificed and forgotten in order for the âgood guysâ to win the day. Let us pray that wonât be the case in Sweet Caroline.
The case will continue in a Caroline County Court sometime after the New Year. The Virginia Connection will be there. After an interview of all willing and relevant parties, a follow-up story will be published in December.
For a previous article published on this case, that will establish a clear prologue, please refer to Adele Uphaus Connerâs seminal work at the Freelance:
