Happy Mother's Day all!
I hope that you will give yourself a little loving today.
If you are lucky enough to have had a loving mother or mentor, take time for gratitude or celebration. If you had a difficult mother, hold yourself in a warm embrace. If you have a child, may you have some loving time or words together today. If you have lost a child, may your heart be touched with tenderness and peace.
May you acknowledge all the beings you nurture in your life with your own shining light.
Prayers for the mothers and children around the world who are struggling to survive.
May we honor and care for our Mother Earth.

Spring Raspberry Parfait!
My Grammy used to make us tapioca pudding, and I loved it when I was a kid. I stopped eating it when she passed and then also realized how sweet the versions most people make are. Years passed, and then I read Laura Plumb's version in her book "Ayurveda Cooking for Beginners." I've been eating it ever since! Here's my adaptation of her recipe. ❤️
Ingredients
1 can coconut milk
1 1/4 cups water
1/2 cup quick cooking organic tapioca granules
1/2 tsp salt
Shake of cardamom
Shake of cinnamon
1/2 cup fresh raspberries
1/2 tsp orange zest
Handful fresh raspberries for topping
1 Tblsp sweetener, maplesyrup, or raw honey
1 tsp vanilla
Fresh grated nutmeg
Bring coconut milk & water to a boil, then reduce to a simmer, and add salt and tapioca. Add cardamom and cinnamon. Stir with a whisk.
Simmer for about 15 minutes.
Add fresh raspberries just until they are warm.
Remove from heat, stir in vanilla, sweetener, and orange zest.
Pour into serving bowls or glasses and sprinkle with nutmeg, then top with fresh raspberries.
Enjoy!

Would you like a little inner peace?
When I shifted from my full-time practice, Innerpeace Healing Arts, in 2018, I asked myself, "Who am I now, what do I really do?"
The answers that came were compassion, love, joy.
OK, sounds good, yep, that's me. "So hmm, what do I do with this, dear Universe? How do I make a living?"
Why, keep gathering women together, with joy, of course!
I remember being a little girl, drawing pictures of people, all sizes, ages, and colors standing together in a circle and holding hands under the moonlight, stars, and shining sun, with flowers blooming, water flowing, the essence of peace beaming around us. So here we are in 2024, and I'm doing what I love - gathering women to join together in nature and community. Want to join us for our June retreat? I know you'll find some inner peace. Check it out here

Great Sunday hike through YKWD White and Green loop trail and spur to the dam. Shanti loved the mud and flooding on the green trail. Black flies were out, not too bad, though. Thanks for the tip for the trail Ali.

I heard it was National Oatmeal Month, so here's one of my favorite oatmeal recipes!
Breakfast Spiced Oatmeal with Golden Raisins, Pecans & Pears
Start by making a sweet spice mix that you can use all season:
Sweet spice Mix
organic ground ginger
organic ground cinnamon
organic ground cardomom
mix equal parts
Use 1-2 tablespoons each to keep a batch for the season.
(For a smaller batch use 1 tsp. each)
Oatmeal for two:
1 ½ cup of water, add more as needed.
3/4 cup of oatmeal
1 handful of organic golden raisins (soak for five minutes before adding)
1 chopped pear (remove skin)
pinch of salt
1 tsp. spice mix
coconut oil or ghee
handful of pecans or walnuts
Place oatmeal, water, salt, spice mix, soaked raisins and pear in a pot, turn on low heat, stir and let simmer.
(exact cooking time will depend on the oats that you are using)
While the oatmeal is simmering toast the pecans/walnuts in an iron skillet till warm and light brown. Once toasted remove from the skillet.
When oatmeal is cooked to your desire, place in a bowl, top with
1/2 tsp. coconut oil or ghee, maple syrup to taste and the toasted pecans/walnuts.
Enjoy!
Happy New Year!
