Add a touch of class and quality to your Autumn, Winter or Spring outfit with a pair of soft leather gloves by Simpson of Piccadilly.
Hand cut and stitched these are a pristine example of the glove makers skill, probably dating from the 50's or 60's.
The Black hand stitching contrasts with the Buttermilk hue of the leather. Whilst there's no labelling regarding the type of leather used, it has the tactile touch and look of Chamois.
Hand sewn three point decoration enhances the gloves appearance while a vent on the cuff improves the fit. These features combine to give the gloves a flattering classic elongated look when worn.
Size 8.5 (medium).

Presenting an immaculate example of a late 50's early 60's Tootal scarf in Burgundy with White Spots.
The Tootal silk scarf was an essential accessory for Original Modernists, often being worn with a smart tailored outfit. While there were imitators such as Sammy and Duggie nothing really compared to this icon of Mid-Century styling.
Modernists usually wear their Tootal crossed over in the Continental style, although it is acceptable to turn it over like a muffler when the thermometer dips towards 32 degrees Farenheit.

There's a sporty vibe to this top, with its stand out style and vibrant colours, which leaves fashion "also rans" way behind. This top is gold standard and I can only think using "Junk" as a brand name was an ironic marketing ploy!
I'm guessing this top dates from the late 60's or 70's.

Mid sixties USA made sport coat in light olive.
Three button closure with high narrow lapels.The lapel notches have rounded edges, a small but important detail that makes this a stand out garment.
The hip pockets are jetted for a smoother more polished silhouette. The cleaner less cluttered look is accentuated by the absence of rear vents reflecting the traditional Italian style. There's no labelling regarding the material used but it's possibly wool or wool mix and with the three quarter "buggy" lining this is a lightweight garment suitable for Spring, Summer and Autumn wear. The buggy lining also gives the sport coat a better drape.
There are two interior pockets which include the size and tailors name-H Freeman & Son of Philadelphia.Founded in 1885 Freemans are still making menswear to this day.
Label size is 41", actual measurements as follows:-
Pit to pit 21", shoulder seam to seam 18", pit to sleeve end 16", overall length 29"-I'd classify this as a short fitting.
Condition wise the garment very good, the only issue being slight discolouration of the lining as shown, but this doesn't detract from this sports coat's wearability.
