From the moment I saw this scene, I knew I had to capture it. A wedding car set against the rustic backdrop of a field, with a man and his horse, his loyal dog by his side. It was a moment out of a dream. As I snapped away, I couldn't help but think how perfectly the scene encapsulated the essence of the wedding day: the merging of past and present, tradition and modernity, beauty and raw, simple authenticity.

I See You.

We believe that photography is not just about the technical aspects of using a camera. Actually, it’s much more about our own perspective as we shoot. How we see. How we feel. How we react. Here we were experimenting during the morning of the wedding. Lines, reflections and composition are elements that can make moments feel alive.

Happy anniversary to a wonderful couple who made our job as wedding photographers an absolute joy!! We can hardly believe it's been a whole year since we had the pleasure of capturing their beautiful wedding. It was truly a magical day, and we feel so fortunate to have been a part of it. As we’ve been a bit in touch with them over the past year It's been such a joy to see their love continue to grow and flourish. We feel such an honor to have been a part of the beginning of their journey together as a married couple.

Hola soy Sunny🧏🏻‍♀️ December is always a special time of year for me, and this December was even more meaningful than usual.

Not only did it mark our 8⃣️th wedding anniversary, but it was also the first time in ten years that I photographed a relative’s (Robert’s sister) wedding. It was such a joy to see my sister in law get married, and I’m so glad that I could be there to capture this day for them.

Every time I looked around, I saw smiles on faces—smiles of excitement, smiles of joy, and even tears of happiness. The connection between family and friends is something truly special; this wedding brought all those relationships together into one beautiful moment in time.

The experience of photographing my sister’s wedding helped me understand how important it is for me to capture the moments that matter most to people—and it also helped me realize how much I love doing this job. It’s not just about doing something we enjoy: it’s also about being able to make meaningful connections with people through photography. And now we have even more of those connections than ever before❤️‍🔥

This year I got to spend a lot more time with family than usual; this allowed me to see how much everyone grows over time. And this day everyone seemed happier than ever before!

Hola, soy Sunny🙋🏻‍♀️
I've been doing this job for a while, and I've met a lot of people. When you're a wedding photographer, you get to see all kinds of love stories unfold. And sometimes, you get to be part of those love stories—by taking photos of the bride and groom, or by being there on their wedding day to help them celebrate their love with friends and family. It's an honor to be able to witness such moments with my camera—and it's one that I never take for granted.

An example of how we get to interact with so many wonderful families not only during the wedding day - but also for a long time after - is that yesterday I had the chance to congratulate a mom of the groom on her birthday. It just made me think that I am so happy to know so many people by doing something I love.

It also reminds me how blessed we are: the extra gift of work is that it allows us to connect with others❤️

Hola, soy Sunny. Back in the day, my parents were all like, "You should get your master's degree right away when you graduate." But I was like, "No way! I'm young and I want to go explore the world." So that's what I did.

And I am glad that I did, because it eventually led me to this AMAZING destination wedding in Puerto Vallarta. It was so beautiful and exciting—and give a big thanks to !

Anyway, back to ten years ago… no way would I have imagined that weddings would take me around the world: United States, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam. And the best part of it all?

❤️Witnessing and experiencing so many lovely stories. Since weddings are more than just fun: they're about love in all its forms. Watching couples and their families bond over time made me realize how important it is for people to come together as one and support each other's dreams.

It was a pleasure to document the wedding of Myriam and Francisco.

The couple and their families were very sweet, and the event was fantastic. We had a great experience in Guadalajara, and we consider it a privilege to have been able to work with them on this special day.

Photography is about capturing the moment, but it's also about preserving memories for eternity. That's why we love what we do—we want our clients to look back at our images and remember how they felt in that moment, not just what happened. ✨

We don’t ask for kisses or poses. We see what’s happening and we react. That’s our challenge. That’s our passion. We go to a wedding and we never know the photos we’ll be getting beforehand. But this way of shooting keeps us on the lookout. Always ready. Always in the moment. Catching those frames full of life, meaning, authenticity, and making the timeless.✨

We love grandma’s with style.

It seems as if in photography everything can become one more ‘something’ inside a frame. One more color, one more element in the composition as a whole. If you limit yourself to that, you can get incredible imagery… but nothing else. To go beyond this we realized that when shooting we have to appreciate the people in our photos. We have to always keep in mind that every one of the guests is special, that every one of them have contributed in a way or another to who our couples are.

The truly incredible photos, those that we consider epic, are the ones full of personality. Those images that capture the essence not only of a celebration, a moment, or an event… but the essence of the people in it.

Sunny here. After trying for a long time, and after constantly feeling that all our marketing efforts were going nowhere, we suddenly got some clients that were ideal. This couple connected with what we do and with how we do it. They trusted our vision and this was so encouraging. It made me happy to the point of tears.

I have talked before about the struggles we’ve faced as an emerging business in the wedding industry here in Mexico. Especially trying to push something that is different and requires a certain level of ‘taste’ or understanding from the viewer. Last year I even talked with Robert about whether to consider a different path, just because it’s so hard to be let down at doing something that we love so much, that we’re good at, and yet the overall response has been quite disappointing.

However, we have not given up. I believe God has given us this as a gift and until He takes it from us we’ll continue. This encourages me to have hope and be patient. That’s how we were able to meet this amazing couple, Robin and Melanie. We loved documenting their wedding day with their friends and family. It was just so good.

We are so happy and honored to have found a couple like this that liked our work and appreciated it. It just feels like all our passion and love for what we do is not wasted. It really encouraged me and allowed me to continue in our search for the correct people here in Mexico, regardless of the challenges along the way.

I leave you with a quote from Kennedy’s speech back when the US went to the moon. “We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard, because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win, and the others, too.”

Mom helps the bride with her dress. Sometimes it’s all about finding new ways to see what we’ve seen before.⁣

03/03/2022

People running, fireworks, smoke, everyone yelling, some screaming, money is thrown in the floor… That moment when the groom arrives to pick up the bride at some asian weddings can get quite a bit chaotic. We love to photograph it.⁣

26/02/2022

Over the years we’ve learned not to rely on the reception or party time to look for images full of energy. Still… we can’t deny that shooting people enjoying a crazy party is so much fun 🤪⁣

23/02/2022

There’s things that perhaps no one would have ever seen had we not photographed them...

21/02/2022

For us, photography has to do so much about curiosity. Sometimes... the most interesting the questions we have, the most interesting the resulting image.⁣

14/02/2022

I think one of the key elements in understanding how much depth there can be in an image is trying to see beyond the aesthetics. It’s funny isn’t it? When we stop judging a photo by how beautiful or perfect it looks, we start to realize there’s infinite possibilities on understanding it or creating something different. Something meaningful, perhaps. Or something personal, or interesting.⁣

… of course, a beautiful photo can also be meaningful, personal, and more 😉⁣

… it’s all about finding beauty beyond what the eyes can see. Feel. Connect. Be sensitive. 😲️⁣

Happy Valentines day guys!⁣

10/02/2022

We like busy, chaotic images that have a sense of rhythm or harmony to them. We are looking for the frame where everything falls in the right place, and it’s not just about composition, but it’s also about noticing how life is so “alive” that it can even be felt through a still photo.⁣

This is Sunny. We used to travel to China about twice a year before this whole pandemic drama, but now it’s already been more than a year that I haven’t gone to visit my hometown. I still have no idea how long will this situation last, but I can’t help to feel homesick 😢. Crazy times.

Given that in video there’s several more elements to play with, we often find ourselves using association of ideas to create metaphors and connections that engage with the viewer pushing the story forward. For a while we have wondered if this is something limited to the cinema language. While not exactly the same, we do feel happy to see some of these personal questions appear in our photo work. Something special happens within a frame when there’s separate ideas creating both a connection and a space for the viewer to imagine and complete the picture. In the end our photography is also an exploration of the visual language itself.

Tropical | Wedding Photography in Mazatlan | ROBERT OBERG We recently had the opportunity to document Alejandra and Fernando at their destination wedding in Mazatlán, Sinaloa. Since most of our work is away from home we try to spend a few days around the area prior to every wedding. Here in Mexico we travel lightly, actually, and we’ve started to make.....

Hey guys, this is Robert. About a year ago we had just returned from China and knew we would probably not be able to go back there for a while. We had the wedding market here in Mexico ahead of us and we were confident that our work would open doors. Having been successful in the American market first, then in Asia, we knew that Mexico would just follow. We just never expected it to be what 2021 was. Apparently our work is too different, too new, too real, too spontaneous, too unique and unexpected. We soon realized we had to seek clients beyond our hometown.

I know the demands of the market. You are expected to follow trends and do what everyone else is doing… but we’ve been there before and now that we have our own voice and vision we can’t shut it down. It’s all been a search for the right type of client, and we’ve had some (you know who you are, thank you guys!), but quality clients have been hard to find.

In the middle of 2021 I gave control of our IG + FB account to Sunny. The thirst for likes and attention here is draining for me. She’s been very diligent with it, much more than I used to be, but in the entire year there’s been little growth or results, few to none comments, no matter if we write deep or superficial stuff our posts seem to go nowhere. Social media is not a measurement of success, but it allows you to see the people you’re surrounded with. Truth is we appreciate and we are appreciated by some, but we still haven’t been able to reach those that need to see our work. We’ve tried everything. Seriously. Everything. You guys have no idea how many hundreds of times we’ve been ghosted by price hunters, by fellow vendors, and by everyone.

Thank you Mexico for crushing our ego and keeping us humble.

Outside the business, 2021 was amazing on the personal side of things. We had some time to put our life in order, work on some personal projects, and keep our health in check.

I guess this is our Happy New Year post. 😄 Hugs to everyone!
